Well, maybe the point is to have 1 energy character, 1 brawler, and 1 combination of both?

Something like that... yes.
Then how can you put Energy Superman into the first draft and claim you're leaving the combo characters until draft 3?
😕

Except that people like GLs and Surfer are energy characters in my mind.
I understand (and like) the idea of categories. I just don't agree with how strict we're making the guidelines for each category.
...
And please understand, this isn't me and Scoob trying to pull one over on you guys. We just genuinely disagree with some of this, and we're trying to deal with it in the best way possible.
Well, the thing is that GL's can basically enhance their physical powers if need be 😬 Blue Superman on the other hand uses pure fields to do his bidding, he has no real strength left
I think me and DC's characters so far are all in the categories we want them for (and I can pm batdude for confirmation again) so this doesnt really affect us I think. I however do see where your coming from.
What I think that you should do Digi is this: for the brawler, they can have a massive amounts of versatility, but mostly be depended on their physical selfs (someone like martian manhunter comes to mind)
For energy you can think of someone like Dr. Light, or Quasar (who are limited to energy only)
GL's unlike Quasar can do MORE than just energy, they can matter manipulate, and do various things in that nature. Does that make sense?
an example would be is I could classify genis as being an energy character, and GL as being a combo character.
😬
I understand, but it still seems like we're playing with semantics here, and making the first two rounds way too limited.
And then where do you draw the line? J'onn has Martian Vision (energy), phasing, invisibility, telepathy (all of which go beyond brawling). And he's just 1 example. Where is the line that seperates "brawler" from "overall"??

I think your placing too much stock in the word brawling. Batdude gave a list of brawling characters (such as superman, glads, and the rest) all have super speed, strength, energy (heat vision of some kinds), ice breath, blah blah blah. Being a mostly physical category is what I think he is going for 😬
No matter manipulation, no transmutation. Basically limited to say physical and in some cases mental abilities 😬
I understand that it means primarily brawler, not entirely brawler. But in terms of versatility, someone like J'onn or even Superman is every bit as versatile with their power set as many of the people that will get chosen in round 3. The line seems arbitrary to me....especially with the energy choices.

My point exactly. 😐
...not everyone knows all this stuff. And we're going to have a lot of confused/pissed off/screwed over people in a few days if we don't get it all cleared up.
....
My advice pr: PM batdude with literally everyone you're considering and ask him to categorize them. Work for BD, sure, but it will give you an idea of where you stand and who you can take in which rounds.

😖hifty: not that it will do you much good 😈
Right. But instead of realizing that not everyone has been a part of the tourney process as much as you, and thus is probably in the dark, you're content to let us flounder. Hell, BD PM'd me a few months ago to ask my opinions on some of the rules, and even I wasn't fully aware of everything until yesterday.
Advantages are sweet. But I'd rather beat and/or lose to opponents straight-up, rather than taking advantage of confusion that should be cleared up before the drafts begin.

Right.

I still say we postpone the draft until every team is settled. Scoob and I will be fine, but at this point there's other teams who are no doubt in the dark. I want to win, but I don't want to win cheap.
I'm going to try and PM some of the other teams and get them caught up. It's the least I can do, and if they're around I'd encourage others to clarify things for them as well.
The thing is that even with those rules, I understand what Batdude is saying in the rules. 😬
Maybe its just me and DC that understand them, which is why I gave some tips earlier. I do not think that batdude will be so specific that a brawler will only consist of say someone on a higher level but similar to the thing, or the hulk. You can have versatility. But I am not the director so I suggest everyone just pm batdude with the list you want MOST (your top three) and try to categorize them for him, and see if he says the list is A) acceptable in terms of use and B) Correctly put into their proper categories.
And Scoobs my understanding is that Strange is out, and you can choose someone right below him for magic use
