And that was Native Americans whose land you used. Doesn't that entitle them to more than it entitles you, by that logic? What about the Mexican's land that we took? Doesn't that entitle them to anything? Or the Irish who were conscripted as soon as they came off the boat to fight in the Civil War that freed your people, only to have them come back to 'No Irish Need Apply' signs? What about them?

That's special, you telling me to get my facts straight... I happen to know about black slavery in America and I also happen to know that "picking cotton" wasn't the sole foundation or "most of the work" that built this country like it is.
That's a little far fetched, if you ask me. Not all white people owned slaves, much less weren't capable of doing their own work. Namely, the Amish people in the Midwest around the 1700's, when slavery was just flourishing in the rest of the U.S. White people aren't immune to slavery, either. From the 1500's to the early 1800's, North African colonies raided ships from the Mediterranean of goods and people to the tune of 1.5 million future white slaves from Italy.
White people know what it's like to be held captive. Wether it be the North African holdings, or the Holocaust, from which we could derive something from, being the Jew's PERSEVERENCE and APPRECIATION and more importantly FREEDOM. Regardless, we all do.
This stupid, everyday, blind self-segregation that goes on in the black community is what's eventually going to hold you back longer than slavery ever could.

I think it's a good thing, this scholarship, esp. if it's for whites who are poor, it's a great idea. I am *inherently* happy for them.
And, I think that just like personality, people vary in their tendancies. Let's even take something crazy like the sun-signs. Some sun-signs are for people who are more business minded, and others are more compasionate, and others work on balance. Either way, there may be *some* people, based on sun-signs or birth order, who are inherently racist REGARDLESS OF THEIR RACE. And I believe that people who are like this benefit from thinking that everyone else is just like them.
Look scholarships usually cater to a particular field of interest, and the detonators have an interest in giving back to something that will help another person in a similar circumstance.
Having a scholarship is great!! I don't care if it was in basket ball, or basket weaving, if the organization wants to give to folks who have talent in this craft or sport, that is their choice. It's the same as if you had a scholarship for teaching or engineering, or medical science...the ones who fund the scholarships should have options.
The reason why they catered to blacks is because blacks were so poor. And I think there is nothing wrong with giving the same opportunity to whites who are poor.
People EARN scholarships, usually you have to either write well, or have a great gpa, or both and have great recommendations.
