"On average, Dr. Giannetto says, a man can lose between 20-30 pounds within a 30-day time period while a women in the same length of time will probably only lose 15-20 pounds."

Now here is my question. What is that percentage wise. Men are heavier than women on average. Is it really more if you calculate that?

you mean like pound for pound? i am too tired for the math on that one, B.

Well, I don't have the information. But since men weigh more, losing more pounds doesn't necessarily mean that they lose their weight in a faster rate percentage wise. Though it might.

when you first go on a diet, you lose considerable weight at first. thats water weight, if i am not mistaken.

Broad, generalizing, idiotic statements. As usual.

You;

Men can safely lose around two pounds a week, and women can safely lose around one pound a week. Any more than this and you might be losing more muscle mass than fat.

Myth: Couples who exercise together lose fat together.

In a 16-month study looking at exercise for weight loss, men and women completed an identical amount of exercise. The men lost an average 11.5 pounds; the women maintained weight (5)! In another study with previously sedentary, normal weight men and women who participated in an 18 month marathon training program, the men increased their calorie intake by about 500 per day; the women increased by only 60 calories—despite having added on 50 miles per week of running. The men lost about five pounds of fat; the women, two pounds (6).

Yeah, that might shut me up about the first part. Second is still bullshit.

That doesn't make any sense. hmm

Slimming World research, published in the Journal of Human Nutrition & Dietetics found that in 12 weeks, 91% of men lost 5% of their body weight.

In a previous Slimming World study, only 53% of women lost this amount in the same number of weeks.

Data also showed that after 12 weeks average weight losses among women were 15lbs, whereas men lost 23.5lbs on average.

Well then eat even less and exercise even more.

Also find ways to put fiber in your diet (brown rice, oatmeal, legumes etc)

Or perhaps it was not meant to exsist in this context. shrug

Second part as in "And they hate us for it."

I think it is right that men lose weight faster.

Though why weren't those studies done simultaneously. Is it just me or are all those studies rather unscientific?
