😛
My church had a 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting time going on, and one of the things I fasted from (besides food for certain portions of time) was the internet.
Crazy! It was weird with 5 1/2 weeks without going online.
Kind of refreshing actually.
I have lots to do though, and the update will have to wait until tomorrow.
Here we are, more of a visual comparison:
Climactic setting
III - The setting for brother vs brother duel.
VI - The setting for father vs son duel.
* what is interesting is that Lucas asked for the inclusion of the gas giant planet in to the Mustafar shot very late in post-production. This indicates to me that it is quite likely a conscious attempt at making a final link between these climactic settings.
He's got a point though.
I love this thread and what it shows, especially in the first 8-10 pages of visual themes, repetitions, contrasts, progressions, etc... as found in the Starwars Saga.
And while I still think all of the more recent updates are interesting, (like Luke and Vader going up to palps chair, where Anakin and Obi-wan went down to Palps chair) they aren't groundbreaking revelations.
There is no denying a symetry to all of this, most of it intentional, and while obvious in many cases (Skywalkers loose arms, whine like brats), much of it is far more subtle.
I appreciate Lucas for taking the time to weave these things in to make it one story, in one world.
As it is, I'm far too busy to really spend time looking for more updates. I can link to a great site that's devoted to these things: http://gs.michaelhopcroft.com/index.php?motif=783&theme=# for further study.
I'd love for the thread to remain open, just for the images/comparisons to be looked at and discussed, but the realist in me knows that discussions will go off topic and it'll be closed.
Thanks to all who liked it, it was my longest running thread at this point, and those who supported it in the beginning, JP, SMX, GG, and those who pointed out the other side, Queeq, Paul and others for making it a good discussion.
