Thanos will break superman in every way possible, physically, mentally, emotionally, I mean Thanos is pound for pound the baddest mofo villain for that past 15 yrs. Thanos has two upgrades, one before infinity gauntlet and one during the Celestail Quest, Thanos has taken on a skyfather "Odin", Skyfather like being "Tyrant", Cosmic force of nature "Galactus", a mad god w/power gem" warrior madness Thor", a cube being in "The Maker", defeats Galactus heralders Silver Surfer, Fallen One etc, Elders of the Universe, the list goes on, and Thanos doesn't jobber unlike superman who beats everybody like Darkseid, Orion , etc. Thanos has every advantage over Superman deal with it fanboy, if you can't accept that then you are a lost soul, who needs to see Dr. Phil.
Fallen one defeat himself.
He lost to Odin
He lost to Galactus.
Warrior Madness Thor served him and he had to plot device him. But initially he had ran from him.
Most of the Elders of the universe were likewise plot deviced [with gems or otherwise.] and he didn't actually confront them with his own power...he tricked Grandmaster, he tricked the collector, etc etc.. for instance.
Haven't read the Tyrant one yet, when was it? I'll look for it, I've read most of Thanos' appearances.
Either way none of those chalk up as legitimate overpowering wins, unlike Superman beating people of that level, though I will give you Darkseid just does plain job to Superman, there's no other way of putting that one, but still... both have defeated people with power and tact way out of their class.
This is a better fight than anyone really wants to give credit for, but I'd still give majority to Thanos for a bit more consistancy--though a lot of that is written up as Superman's drawing/storeing more/less energy at time... but at 'optimum as the forum says...I feel it's a hell of a fight.
Thanos was not defeated by Odin he was winning but hadn't won by a long shot... Galactus is a abstact being of course he would lose and Fallen One fell just like Silver Surfer did and Thanos left the battle for two reasons he got that ball of power and he was also satisfied he could match that version of Tyrant in battle.. well I heard that Thanos can forever enchance his cosmic energy limitless so I don't think it matters so much how much Superman lifts. Thanos is too durable to care.
Thanos probably is the smartest one among them too.
Superman is faster but Thanos is fast enough to handle it.
And Thanos can take Supes heat vision I'm sure about that since he has taken worse.
I may be wrong since Thanos is quite a new character to me I have a few issues featuring him. But I think the fight will go like this.
