Trans-Fat Ban?

Trans-Fat Ban?

The gov't is proposing a trans fat ban which'll mean no more Oreos and McDonalds french fries for anyone anymore. At least not at it's normal and tasty level.

I'm against the gov't interfering with and dictating on what people should and shouldn't eat. especially when alcohol does more damage to organs and kills more people that trans-fat ever did or will and yet it's legal to consume.

Trans-fat can cause health issues if it is abused just like anything else. When enjoyed in moderation by a mindful person then there'll be no problems. If people don't know how to feed themselves then how is that anyone else's problem or business.

My point is if you are against trans-fat, then don't eat it, but don't ban it and make others pay for what other uncontrollable mouths adhere to..

Most likely some nutrionist nutjob is behind this idea.

Its the same f*cking people that want the smoking ban. Its just the government wanting to regulate the private sector even thought they have no place.

You don't wanna eat trans fat? Don't eat at McDonalds. Its called self control.

How do you identify what is cooked in trans fats and what isn't if you go to mcdonalds? I don't see this as the same thing as smoking in public places.

Packaged foods such as chips and cookies don't count!

There's a difference here though, test have shown that 2nd hand smoke can be harmful to others, trans fat is only harmful to those who ingest it.

This is false, heart disease, caused by trans-fats (obviously among other things) is the #1 killer of Americans in the entire country, ahead of cigarettes, alcohol, and even cancer.

Why don't people do their research before posting their lies as if they were fact?

You are asking for to much now, don't be greedy.

The ban's already in affect in N.Y. Now Connecticut is considering banning it, as well. The current state I'm in, MA, is more than likely to pass it soon too, as the issue is being hotly debated here as I write this.

It's saddening. This was in today's news.

They even have a website on it..

force restaurants to cook with natural oils, making the food taste better and not slowly kill you? NAZIS!!!11

its funny how big business restaurants use gutter cheep artificial oils at your expense, and then manage to program you all to scream bloody hell if its taken away

ahem *cough cough* oreos have zero transfat...they were sued a couple years ago about having the most humaely possible..they fixed it now they have zero..but it doesnt taste quite the same

But its all about control in the U.S. Sometimes it can be like a rat race what group can make people stop smoking marijuana permently, what company can stop people from indulging in transfat...who can stop people from wearing fur, the speed limit (bad example)..its all about control. I have the power to make you stop and you cant do anything about or you face the consequences.. 😠

But i doubt this will go all the way through before the morbidly obese and fast food lovers get off their ass and protest about it.

"2 4 6 8, healthy food is what we hate. 6 7 8 9 i much rather stand in line"

thats the basis of your passion? oreos dont taste the same? horseshit.

If I recall correctly Taco Bell stop using Trans fat on their food to show concern for their customers and offer a more healthier menu.

Then the E.coil outbreak happens...

*slowly applauds*

have a donut peeps

*waves a finti*

Thank you. 😊

Yes, it is highly ironic, and mildly entertaining.

😑 whatever

meaning what? meaning you would be so outraged on the level of rebellion and "**** THE SYSTEM!!!!!" because food became healthier and better tasting (with exception to your apparent lack of taste for the new oreos which is probably all in your head). if you want something to be outraged about, why not go over the way the current administration suspended our 1200 year old right to habius corpus. how about secret prisons? how about....well anything more significant...or significant AT ALL will do. i mean if its just "i liked the old way better", then fine. but the melodrama here is so thick you can cut it with a chainsaw

:edit: why did you edit? now i want the last 35 seconds of my life back

Lemme guess, this is somehow racist 🙄

Seriously though, trans-fat is bad. Just because there's a ban on it doesn't mean that Oreos and McDonalds are going to disappear. They'll just be healthier. Hell, Wendy's stopped using trans fat earlier this year, but you don't see then going under because the public finds it somehow 'less delicious'
