the question becomes complicated by those nano-second battle reactions and combat speeds majestros has shown. could he HIT with the godblast in a non-pis format? i believe thor is the more powerful, but majestros isn't far behind and the old thor vs speed issue is ALWAYS one that is difficult to CONVINCINGLY overcome.

He is going to need the Godblast here as you are underestimating Majestic.
Majestic at this best which is the standard here is PC Superman strong and fast and with a level of invulnerability that is extrenely high as well.

Its not simply Majestic's strength, he is much more than a brick.
He is a a warrior almost on par with Thor in terms of intensity and training.
He has long-range capabilities and has vision that can alter the molecular structure of objects.
His intellect is almost on the level of Braniac 5 and he is a great tactitian.
Last but not least, there is his speed capabalities.
Basically, you have a character who is stronger, faster, smarter and less given to hubris than Thor.
I think Majestic has the clear edge.

Well, 70s and 80s are naturally best, since 90s was filled with odinforce, etc.
It's just that the Godblast isn't necessary. Majestic isn't so durable that Thor can't hurt him, especially if he can't even bare standing in the sun. The Godblast is reserved for mainly stationary enemies that are FAR out of Thor's range, or Juggernaut. Galactus, Enchanters and Celestial. These are much too strong for him.
There's no reason to assume that regular energy blasts, anti matter or lightning wouldn't work 🙂
