And the Phoenix Force is the power behind the Big Bang which created reality and from which all energy in 616 comes from, so the two seem to be at odds. However despite all of his boasts about his power level he never did anything impressive on panel and then got completely punked by Galactus. Phoenix Force wins without a doubt. All life stems from it. Hyperstorm is a life form is he not?

Many cosmic beings have access to a virtually unlimited energy source, Phoenix is also one of those beings. What truly matters in forum debate is how such beings can employ that power and how they have been shown to be able to employ it in battle.
Hyperstorm for all his talk about his power got squished by Galactus no contest. His claims are therefore unproven.
Phoenix arguably has just about the best feats in Marvel. Her ability to use her limitless power is proven.
The Force would stomp Hyperstorm. There is a reason why its avatars are called the ultimate mutation.

Silver Surfer uses the same energy type as Galactus, does that mean he should automatically be able to punk Galactus and use him as a living energy source?

maybe its just that im tired, but im not really quite sure what your getting at, Hyperstorm doesnt use cosmic energy, he pulls it out of hyperspace, the same type of energy Galactus gets from eating a planet so thats a completely different scenerio, it would be like Supes trying to fight a man made completely out of Kyrptonite

In alternate realities and in 616 reality the Phoenix has defeated Galactus in combat. With Galactus claiming that Phoenix has access to an unlimited energy source whilst he must continually top up his limited reserves with planets.
If Galactus just ate a planet he'd be able to hang with an average showing Phoenix for a while before he used up his reserves. Phoenix however would be able to carry on regardless. Galactus is no match for Phoenix.

Im saying that youre making excuses for Hyperstorms defeat. Youre trying to say that he never got punked, its just that Galactus used the same type of energy as Hype so Galactus could easily use him.

As for Hyperstorm he uses cosmic energy that derives from hyperspace. He tried to say that thats where all energy from the universe comes from and that he has access to hyperspace through his power and he can therefore wield all energy types. He didnt wield a different energy type. Galactus absorbs and uses such energy as do most cosmic powers, he just tends to obtain them from planets. If Hyperstorm was so powerful he should have been able to stop Galactus. He could not. Your kryptonite example is invalid as it is not the same situation. Galactus absorbs and channels cosmic energy, so does Hyperstorm. Galactus presence doesnt suddenly weaken Hyperstorm or depower him. What we saw there was just as i said earlier. Hype has a limitless power source but he cannot employ that power in an unlimited fashion. So Galactus who can manipulate energy at a higher scale than Hyperstorm merely demoted him to lunch.
