Most Christians believe in a judgment day. I know Catholics do as this is what I was taught growing up. We are not supposed to judge one another. That's God's job, from what I've been told.
Our place in this world isn't as judges, but reformers. As co-creators we have a responsibility to preserve the person to the utmost extreme (when they can no longer be brought back into the society, and execution is the only way to preserve the greater society). A criminal killed in the name of justice, is not justice it is vengeance.
