Oh my bad. Bill Hicks stance was the opposite.

He said it makes sense that Christians are for the Death Penalty

After all, they wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Death Penalty.

Haha, I guess you're right. 😂

But seriously, that doesn't excuse a religion which teaches forgiveness, compassion, and all that good stuff to say "Well this guy is really bad so let's get rid of him."

There are very extreme circumstances for the death penalty to ever be instituted. But it is not uncommon for the catholic church to be in favor for death as the ultimate means of justice. But only as a final means when all other forms have been exhausted.

Most Christians believe in a judgment day. I know Catholics do as this is what I was taught growing up. We are not supposed to judge one another. That's God's job, from what I've been told.

I am curious though, how can you call yourself a Christian and simultaneously be for the death penalty? Didn't Jesus teach nonviolence? "Turn the other cheek"

Capital punishment is hardly against any Christian values. I believe that, in some cases, it is the duty of the government to execute individuals.

Nah, I just think in some cases, it is the duty of the government to execute individuals.

we can judge and kill as much as we want, but its ultimately in gods hands.
this is what i believe.

Not mine.

But hey, you don't think you are kinda going against his will with that view.

I recall one of his super duper, you have to live by them, commandments to be "Thou shalt not kill".

Am I wrong?

what i mean was that no matter how much we kill, judge and execute, our ultimate fate is in his hands. i dont support execution, but its part of life.
i am a pacifist, pretty much live and let live. how is that going against his will?

But, could we, for people like me, who don't believe in that. Not pretend that is not the case and say that life might be precious. Cause it is the only we get?

Please?

And not you. People that are for executions and stuff. Especially when it so cleary says you should not kill. That's what an execution is by the way. Killing folks.

it is a duty they assume because they feel it gives them control.

It does too.

Sounds pretty egoist though.

Most likely Osama is still alive if his liver/kidneys didn't fail, but he won't be captured/killed anytime soon, the White House has "marginalized" him, he is no longer a major target.

the combination of pure idiocy and disturbing sadism of some here astounds me
