I was very surprised by it. I was expecting non-stop chaos. I had no idea it would be chaotic, with a side dish of orchestral brilliance.

Especially in the song "The Mighty Masturbator." That song perfectly describes what I mean. You've got the beginning, which is just Dev singing lightly with some guitar going on behind him, then it explodes into some Doom Metal, then crosses paths with some extreme thrash, then randomly goes into some shit I can't even explain.

The whole album is like that, and by far my favorite of the 4.

Although, I really like Ghost. It feels like a really honest album. You can tell that Dev REALLY wanted to make that album, spiritually. Which is great, because he puts all he has into it. It's just a really pretty record.

Yeah, I had alot of the same thoughts. I figured it'd be the same greatness you'd expect from him, since to me he's alot like Buckethead and GWAR in the sense that they haven't disappointed me with an album yet. The change in intrumental intelligence really surprised me.

I even brought up a few days ago to my buds when we were listening to Ki that it almost sounds like he's been wanting to go apesht nuts and straight up DO Deconstruction. You know? Like, you listen to Ki and go: "Whoa he's really lettin' loose, is he holding back?" *Listens to Deconstruction* "Ohhh, I see what your game is now, Dev."

I think Deconstruction was the album he KNEW everyone wanted, and as a gift to his loyal fans he gave them exactly what they wanted, while he also explored new arenas and had fun making the record.

I know I read something where he was like, "60% of this album, the metalheads are going to totally love and the other 40% they're going to be totally confused by..." and he goes on to say that the 40% that they don't quite understand was his way of justifying the whole making of that record, because he's said plenty of times that he's not in the same frame of mind he was making the early SYL albums. He's more at peace with everything.

Although, I'm hoping he puts all that aside to blast out a new Ziltoid album ASAP, OR a Ziltoid DVD of some sorts. Either/or, I'd be plenty please with some new Ziltoid, other than a cameo appearance in The Mighty Masturbator.

Although, that's one of my favorite parts of Deconstruction. After he utters that line, and the chorus goes "AMEN". I really lost my shit.

All the times I've seen that guy in SYL, always had to point it out amongst other friends that he's goin' places, glad to see he did. While SYL is still really awesome, I'm glad we're gettin' stuff like this.

I could sooooooo go for some new Ziltoid too.

I've got this theory that has been based off of the Six Degrees of Separation idea. You know, that whole 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon thing?

Well, mine is based off the central character of Frank Zappa. Everyone who is in his lineup has gone off to do great things. Those people employed their own lineups and also grew to great things.

So, if they have this 6 degrees of separation to FZ, then they're automatically going to be great.

Devin played with Steve Vai, Vai was on an FZ lineup, Devin is the king. Coincidence? Me thinketh not.

I should write a book on this.

Thank you! You too!
