You'll be sorry you dealt in absolutes when Horr comes back with scans.

Are you a Sith or something?

Genis had power to absorb and use cosmic energy, as part of his own personal power-profile. He also had the Nega Bands and, as his story progressed, he had some of the Destiny Force, thanks to Rick.

But, he had nowhere near the personal power it took to do all those major feats, including killing Eternity. He had problems with Surfer-level beings and Zemo. After throwing in with Entropy, he was at a new level and even then, he was only able to kill Eternity, because Eternity wanted to die.

When they recreated the Universe/Multiverse, it was a combined effort of Genis, Entropy, Epiphany and Rick Jones with the Destiny Force.

He killed himself after he went insane. Then, Entropy brought him back.

Genis Driven to Suicide by Entropy.

Entropy Resurrects Genis as part of his plan to kill Eternity.

Genis adds himself to get some credit for destroying Eternity, but the truth is, that is ridiculous!

Entropy- Deciding to recreate the universe: "if it is not to my liking, I can always destroy it again".

Entropy Destroyed the Father. Entropy is his own alpha and omega, beginning and end. Genis doesn't try to insert himself here.

Eternity only died because he wanted to.

When he was not working for Entropy, he was much weaker.
Genis had been beaten by Surfer, Ronan and Zemo and almost killed by Atlas.

As powerful as he became, the Nega Bands never really did much for him. At least in terms of elevating him as high as he had gone in power-level. He had other stuff at his disposal.

He tried to kill himself but he was unable to die. Entropy didn't bring Genis back to life.

Entropy needed Genis, that was the whole point of driving him insane.

Also, Photon Genis was just as strong or stronger than when he was insane. He was no longer working with Entropy...he never worked for Entropy.

Greatest power?

Offhand:

quasar used his bands to reverse the black hole created by maelstrom to destroy the entire universe. Holding back the combined attack of the avengers and the infinity watch.

Thor: used it to return glory's attack back on him. Channelling godforce. Getting hits on celestials.

Marvel: nothing on panel comes to mind.

I read the comic again, you were right, Entropy brought him back.

I stand by the rest of my post though.

No problem. There are a lot of vague comments made in his story. Not a lot of definite statements. Lots of hands in the pie.
Not an easy situation to argue.

hammer, Qbands and then Nega bands

Prove Genis was tapping into the Destiny Force.

He seemed more powerful when he was actually insane, as opposed to Photon, I'll admit. But again, he was insane and didn't give a shit. And that applies to things farther than the Entropy scandal.
Plus Photon was written with CIS intact. Iirc he let Atlas beat the shit out of him, as well as Zemo to some extent.

It wasn't a combined effort of Rick and Epiphany. Sure they talked him into it, but they didn't accomplish much beyond that.
When they recreated the universe, it was a combination of Genis blowing off Entropy's head and Entropy creating a big bang because of it.

Genis still manages to crush Eternity. Wanting to die doesn't turn Eternity into paper. It's not like Wolverine could kill Eternity just because he wanted to die... I hope...

Mar-Vell tells Genis he's not dead, he's just a ghost. And Rick says he's beyond the need for a physical body.

Entropy just came to him and talked to him about some shit. Not really ressurected him, and there's no indication anywhere that he gave him power.

The Surfer and Ronan came before he went insane, and started thinking like he was a God. The other two have context behind them, much like the Eternity scene.
And Marvel stopped "working for" Entropy the moment they created the universe.

Still Mjolnir, despite Thor having his worst year-years

Honestly, I'm not really into the whole Genis thing. I originally, just wanted to prove the power of the Q bands.
You might be right about some of this stuff, I don't know. I'm just posting what I think and what I see and read.

Saying that the power increase that showed up AFTER he is brought back to life by Entropy and becomes Entropy's boy, has nothing to do with the SON of ETERNITY, doesn't seem like a logical view to me.

He was one thing before resurrection and then was something different after. That's what I saw.

Plus Photon was written with CIS intact. Iirc he let Atlas beat the shit out of him, as well as Zemo to some extent.
Not sure if this was the case with Atlas, I don't remember. I do NOT think it was the case with Zemo. He flat out beat him down.

If Rick was still a part of Genis, then he still had access to the Destiny Force. On top of that, Entropy wanted it to happen. It was his decision. And, really, all it means is that Entropy/Eternity dispersed and became creation again.

Genis still manages to crush Eternity. Wanting to die doesn't turn Eternity into paper. It's not like Wolverine could kill Eternity just because he wanted to die... I hope...
Genis, with the power of Entropy and the Destiny force added to his own. But, I'm not sure how to prove how difficult or easy it was to do.

Mar-Vell tells Genis he's not dead, he's just a ghost. And Rick says he's beyond the need for a physical body.

Entropy just came to him and talked to him about some shit. Not really ressurected him, and there's no indication anywhere that he gave him power.

Entropy came to him and suddenly he was alive. Entropy drove Genis crazy, until he committed suicide. Then, he tells Genis it was part of his plan and asks Genis to join him. Suddenly, Genis is back and more powerful than ever.
It's hard for me to see this any other way than I see it. I don't know what to say.

The Surfer and Ronan came before he went insane, and started thinking like he was a God. The other two have context behind them, much like the Eternity scene.

Well, when I get a chance, I will check it out again. Maybe you are right. He isn't a favorite of mine, so I haven't read the story more than once.

Cool cool, my first two posts were a joke anyway.

You gotta remember that this happened after a whole ****ton of experience and him going crazy with the power at his disposal. Or it was just the writer writing him up. Either or.

You can assume and all that, but it was never stated.

Oh wait, Purple Man "turned off" his cosmic awareness and Atlas attacked him from behind. And Zemo played a bunch of mindgames with him, and then held him in a moment of time, after barely holding out against him.
No shame in the Zemo one though. Anyone who can tear someone apart, trap those parts in time, and scatter those in the dark dimension is pretty beastly.

But again, this was during his Photon phase when he was a little more laid back. It's hard to see either of these characters do this to Genis when he was in full on crazy phase. I mean the guy was able to hurt King Thor and mollywhop two dangerous giants even after the Entropy fiasco. Thor was even giving into demands and Genis straight up killed it with one shot. And he pretty much toyed with everyone else. Even two Genis'

Yes he wanted it, he didn't know how though. Genis pulled a pistol out of nowhere and blasted him in the head.

It didn't accomplish much beyond a big bang, but it's still pretty impressive that he managed to do anything at all.

Rick was actively fighting Genis and Genis called it "slowing him down", so he's out.

The Entropy power is an assumption.

It apparently wasn't hard at all since Eternity wasn't fighting back. But like I said, that wouldn't have made him something that a Wolverine or Hulk could have killed.

Entropy just walked him around and got him on his side so he'd help him with Eternity. And yes, drove him insane.

Meh. It was just never stated he was powered up.
Plus he's got shit like this:

I just think Genis is a solid step beyond Quasar based on the evidence. Most of that would be his Nega Bands.
While he has some retarded feats all abstracty and the like, based on other showings I wouldn't put him there. I'd say a solid trans to skyfather range with feats way beyond them.

Well, you definitely know Genis story better than I do. And, I can't find anything in the books that separates which powers allowed him to do what and where it was coming from.

So, for now, I can only stand by what I posted and also the history of the Nega Bands never being anywhere near as powerful as what Genis or Quasar have shown. They would have needed an upgrade.

But, yeah, Genis was up there.

Re: Re: Re: Quantum Bands vs Mjolnir vs Nega Bands

according to wendell vaughn, [former galactic superhero, quasar] you're right, as he has said that their power is so great, "they could make the very universe tremble".........
