how big is wolfmother

im an aussie and i want to know if wolfmother is big in the us

Well, I love them. My friends love them. I'd say a good fraction of the people here know them.

They're big enough to get some TV show appearances.

Wiki:

On May 4, 2006, Wolfmother appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. In June, the band performed several songs on air for the 2006 MTV Movie Awards and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Owned.

Never heard of them until now. Not impressed.

They had that one song, and that's pretty much it.

I saw a segment of Mike Patton hosting videos on MTV 2 UK. I never knew how truly musically diverse that guy is. He's an inspiration.

saw this months ago.

hilarious.

ironic though...that he asks "what year are we in?" right after saying he's making a 60's italian record...

after seeing them at Big Day Out last year i still hate them. although i do see the irony in pattens comment.

The difference is that Wolfmother are stuck on making a living off of being a Steppenwolf coverband, whereas Mike Patton doesn't give a ****, and never made music for the masses.

You think he expects his album to be big, much less embraced by anyone else?

Nope.

Hah! That's great.

Anyway, I can't say I've heard more than a song or two of Wolfmother. And they didn't impress me at all.

thats not the point though is it?...you cant criticise a band for sounding from and previous decade while promoting your own on the basis that it sounds from a previous decade...that may not have been what he intended but thats how it appears from the video

I think it's funny how just a few weeks ago Cine was saying there's hardly a more versatile vocalist than Phil from All That Remains.

Gotta laugh.

Yeah, slight irony. Though he just said they suck.

yeah...and asks what year are we in...so either his brain is totally fried...he's been transported back from the future to save sarah conner or he's making a criticism based on a band sounding old despite deliberately making one of his own records sound old

i thinks its B

i think Patton would stamp his own sound into the older style, Wolfmother just regurgitate it.

maybe...still an older style though...hence it's hypocrisy
