Oh and about em being a W/E shipper for the moment, don't worry I'll be back the J/E shipper side soon .... I'm just starting to Will and Liz have better chemistry and what not. But I'm going on a bike ride with my family so I'll be back to normal afterwards, lol.Maybe it's just so I can jave Jack to myself, lol!
okay, i was thinking i would continue, but there is just no way i can write about Elizabeth being bait for Jack's life and how that is going to play out. I started out but man oh man, i will accidentally end them together if i'm not careful. so maybe Surreal better manage that, or Willo, if you are more self controlled than me.
It would be nice to give Elizabeth and James a good scene or two together, just to stir that back up.
Quick fix to my earlier post, Surreal. Beckett probably went below deck to check on Norrington or to go get a spyglass or to use the little boys room, etc. Or maybe he just likes to be alone. I don't think that's a problem.
CUT TO WILL TAKEN BELOW
Note: Okay, I'm a little shaky about Norrington right now, so someone can edit this if I'm not capturing the spell or whatever correctly.
Will: Let go of me!
Guard: You'll stay down here with the other one.
(Will looks around. It's very dark and creepy. Wavy lights from the porthole dance around the walls. Finally, he hears a groan in the corner)
Norrington: Turner?
Will: Are you, are you all right? (hesitant to go near him)
Norrington: For the moment. I can't explain it. I know everything that's happening, and yet I don't. (heads towards him but shakes a little. Will takes a step backward) Where is Elizabeth?
Will: She's on the deck. They've chained her to the mast to bait Jack.
Norrington: (anguished) Bloody hell. You have to help me.
Will: How do we fix you?
Norrington: Did you meet Spoon? You probably don't even know what I'm talking about.
Will: The mermaid. Yes. She led us to you. She said she was going to go to the Pearl.
Norrington: There has to be a way out of this. Think.
CUT TO ABOVE DECK
(Liz keeps twisting her bonds, trying to find some way to free herself)
Liz: Bugger.
(she sees a ship out in the distance. It's a very familiar ship.)
Crew member: The Black Pearl's gaining on us!
Oh no!!!! The black pearl!??! DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I smell drama on the high seas... lol 😉
(you know, i think once we've completed this, if ever, we should start a thread entitled soap operas or sit coms of the caribbean, and continue all the fun character work without the frame of a full out script feel. that might be fun.)
Ahhh! I'll be back in a bit, hoping to read more and perhaps get my head together to contribute. 🙂
CUT TO THE PEARL
(I'm assuming Jack and Anamaria have the rest of the crew with them)
Gibbs: It's a battle they'll be wantin,' Jack.
Jack: I had that notion as well, Mr. Gibbs.
Anamaria: Is there any way to contact the other pirates?
Jack: No, good spouse, I think we're on our own, least right now.
(camera pans to Pintel and Ragetti. Can someone tell me which is which?)
Pintel: Where's that Calypso been?
Ragetti: I figger she'll come when we all least suspect it.
Pintel: Hmph, that's good, mate. Real good.
Ragetti: S'pose we were to get on the Flying Dutchman first.
Pintel: Why'd we want to do that?
Ragetti: Avoid a lot of pistol-firin' for one, but the heart is somewhere on that ship.
Pintel: When you think, you really think.
(they jump into the water and make a swim for it. Camera is back to Jack......where it should be!)
Jack: What's that?
Gibbs: What's what, captain?
(Bootstrap comes on deck)
Jack: That's Lizzie. They're already there.
Bootstrap: Do you see Will?
Jack: They'd keep 'em apart, mate. So it's a baiting.
Bootstrap: We have our own means of negotiation, Jack.
Jack: We have neither the heart nor the Pieces of 8, so you'll have to enlighten me there.
Bootstrap: We have Calypso.
Anamaria: Correction. You, Jack, have Calypso. Call in a favor. Unrequited love could make her do just about anything.
Gibbs: Do it, Cap'n. Do it for Miss Elizabeth and Will.
Jack: Bugger. I liked her much better when all she had were jars of dirt.
Black Pearl deck. A bit of time has passed, and Jack is on the deck alone. He looks displeased and a little drunk as he swings down into the water.
Jack: Next I'll have to be branding meself traitor, with all this business.
He swims out a bit away from the Pearl and begins to flounder--
Back on deck, Anamaria and Gibbs are hiding behind a barrel, whispering.
Anamaria: Think she'll go for it?
Gibbs: Hard to say. Even a stone drunk Jack could swim through a hurricane. But she may try and save him.
Anamaria: Why didn't we just call for her?
Gibbs: She's a goddess, not a dog. He needs to catch her unawares.
Back in the water, Jack is going under again. Waves begin to splash, as he takes a gulp of air and blows the bubbles out, sinking further under water. Through the murk he finally sees Tia--- and she pulls him onto the deck before he can do anything.
Calypso: Jack Sparrow, you should have just called for me.
Jack: (sputtering) Where's the fun in that?
Calypso: Faking a drowning is hardly your style, Jack.
Jack: Alright, I wanted to see you, as fair's fair. You keep sneaking off.
Calypso: (she's pleased) I'm making arrangements. Are you too drunk to remember the battle looming on the horizon?
Jack: Eh, yes... speaking of that... I need a favor.
Calypso: You more than usually do, Jack. I've already given you my protection, what more could you want?
Jack: (at his most goofy and persuasive) How do you feel about a jolly reunion with Jones?
Calypso: I am not amused, Jack.
Jack: No really! It's been what... ten years? Twenty? You could talk about old times, catch up, discuss divine oceanic tricks of the trade, eh? What do you say?
Calypso: I say it's going to cost you a fortune, and you're going to have to provide a way back out or you'll be mercilessly slaughtered during the battle.
guys, I'm a little confused. Why is Jack going to bargain for them, when they went aboard the ship like 2 minutes ago of their own volition? Are they meant to get the heart, or kill the evil mermaid queen, or what? And why wouldn't Jack and the pirates attack Beckett's very small crew, since his army hasnt arrived yet? Hmmm.
Cut to... Jack in a longboat, with Tia. There's no telling what bargain he's made with her (wink), but they're going.
Jack: Why do I get the feeling this is an incredibly stupid idea?
Tia: Perhaps it is. You could leave them for now---
Jack: That's a risk I'm not willing to take anymore...
Beckett's ship.
Murtogg: Small craft approaching, sir.
Beckett seizes a spyglass.
Beckett: It's not possible.
Jones: Not probable. But it seems your plan is working like a charm.
Beckett: Would he dare be so stupid?
Jones: Love makes people do crazy things.
Beckett looks at Jones for a moment, then turns to Elizabeth with a slow smile.
Beckett: (to Jones) Maybe we'll let them have their moment.
He pulls Jones into his cabin. Elizabeth gazes apprehensively at the water--- this could get bad.
Cut to below decks. James and Will.
James: Well first off, don't tell me anything else-- I cant be trusted. Second off... (holds his head, in pain) get me a drink...
Will does this, also lighting a candle in the dim room. He starts when he sees James' eyes--- dark, distant, fading in and out of their natural color. James downs the drink and shakes himself.
James: The heart. It's on the ship--- Beckett's only hold on Jones.
Will: I'm afraid we're locked in.
Suddenly, Pintel and Ragetti burst through the door, the keys in their hands...
MEANWHILE, back ON DECK...
Jack has climbed onto the deck, and sees Elizabeth chained to the mast. The sight pierces him and he glances away for a moment. Finally he gathers himself and saunters over.
Elizabeth: Jack! Jack, no it's a trap!
Jack is near enough to cover her mouth with his hand.
Jack: I know, love. I'm here to do a bit of rescuing. It seems you didn't get far, eh?
Elizabeth: We were trying to save James...
Jack: (nods, then looks at her seriously) Why did you have to leave?
Elizabeth starts to mumble something but Jack pulls her face close to his and kisses her forhead.
Jack: I'm sorry. I'm sorry Lizzie. I don't know why I did it. I didn't mean--
Elizabeth tries to make a sarcastic reply, but can't. Her face pinches for a moment as she masters herself.
Elizabeth: Oh Jack. Jack. There isn't time to tell you---
No, there's not, because suddenly Jones and Beckett are out with their men, in force. They take several shots at him (and miss) while Jack leaps back and whips out a pistol and his sword.
Jack: Now, now! No funny business. I'm here to negotiate, not join the party of prisoners.
Beckett: Empty handed? Tisk Tisk.
Jack: Hardly empty handed. I'll just be having that Lizzie and young Mr. Turner back before we return to our ship and blow your ship to smitherines.
Beckett: And how do you plan-
Jack: (taunting) My boat's bigger than your boat!
Beckett: Insolent fool.
Jack: Oy! Hostage!
Tia makes her appearance, rolling her eyes at Jack.
Beckett: Goddess, don't tell me he's talked you into this.
Tia: Clearly you are unaware of Jack's persuasion skills. Let's all be frank. Me for the two humans. You're getting the better bargain, Beckett.
Beckett: But the girl! She's said to be a goddess as well...
Jack: (catching on to Will and Liz's plan) Ah, but a second rate one. Can't even untie her own bonds, much less win a battle. Practically useless, except at seduction and things like that.
Beckett regards Liz-- yeah, that's about all he's seen her do.
Beckett: Where's the catch?
Jack: If there were a catch, Cutler, I hardly think the catcher would explain to the catchee what the catch was or how it would or when the catch would cetch.
Beckett: If it's possible, Jack, I hate you worse now than I did 15 years ago.
Jack: Likewise. (with a glint of mischief) Though there's less of you to hate.
Beckett's getting pissed off, but he can't refuse the bargain, heck, its a goddess. He motions his men to make one last attempt, and they all fire a shot, but Jack pulls Tia in front of him.
Jack: Take her or leave her!
Beckett: We'll take her. Jones, fetch the prisoner from below.
MEANWHILE, BELOW...
Will, Pintel and Ragetti have snuck into Beckett's office (Which used to be Jones' organ room) and are searching frantically for the heart.
Will: Hurry, you two. James is likely to alert them of this.
Pintel: I found something!
Holds it up-- not the heart, just a dead fish. Pintel drops it with a shriek.
Will: Shhh!!
He sneaks over to the organ, and spies Beckett's little wooden box. Pintel and Ragetti see it.
Pintel: There's no way... it's too simple.
Ragetti: He's a business-man, not a pirate. Hasn't got the creativity of a hider of treasures.
Will opens the chest, sure enough, there's the heart. Will shoves it into the hands of Pintel.
Will: I'm counting on you two to get this back to the pearl. If you fail, we'll probably all die. Got it?
Pintel and Ragetti look at each other nervously.
CUT TO Jones descending the stairs. He marches to the prisoner's room, opens the door, and luckily, there's Will, looking as though nothing's amiss.
Jones: You. Turner. Come with me.
Will turns and gives James a look of camraderie as he exits, and James nods at him.
CUT To JACK's LONGBOAT>
Time has passed- the bargain is complete, and Jack, Elizabeth, and Will are rowing away from the Flying Dutchman, dodging canonballs Beckett regularly shoots after them. They are nearing the Pearl.
Jack: I hope you got the heart, at least.
Will: Aye, and a little something else.
Will holds out a necklace with multi-colored stones.
Will: Norrington said it would summon whatever evil thing is controlling him so we can kill it. We've only to drop it into the water---
Jack: Well don't do it now! Where's the heart?
Will: With Pintel and Ragetti.
Jack: And they are...?
Suddenly they see what look like a pair of sea turtles coming towards them, as Pintel and Ragetti bob up and the turtles swim away.
Jack: Well I'll be.
On that note, I'm going to bed. Someone needs to explain Tia's power to me, cause I'm a bit confused on what she is capable of doing. lol. 🙂 Oh, and I reckon the Pearl should try to attack the Dutchman before Beckett's army arrives, because it just seems like bad strategy not to.
Okay one more bit. Darn caffeine. i forgot to tie this up before, with elizabeth.
BLACK PEARL-- deck.
Anamaria comes up on deck to see Jack and the returned prisoners--- she runs to Will without thinking and throws herself into his arms.
Jack, meanwhile, has pulled Elizabeth aside.
Jack: Now we've got the means to save James, and destroy Beckett's power over Jones. Calypso will make her stand in the battle. All the details seem tied up... save one. I want you to take command of one of the ships, and get out of here. Go back to Port Royal, back to England if you like, but get yourself somewhere safe and don't look back.
Elizabeth: Jack, you can't mean...
Jack: Your father had a dying wish, Elizabeth. And how are we supposed to protect you here, where life seems to have become so cheap?
Elizabeth: (taking a deep breath) I told Will I didn't want to be a pirate anymore, Jack... but it doesn't seem you can choose these things. 'A pirate's life for me', remember?
Jack: But if you go now, you could escape it--
Elizabeth: Not this time, Jack. I'll take my stand here and now, with the people I love.
Jack: (grinning) I suppose there's no use arguing with you, then. Now let's see about saving your Commodore, so that I can get on with blasting Beckett's ship from the water.
Alright, really am done now. gosh, somebody ban me from writing j/l bits. seriously. do we want to save the commodore before or during the battle? maybe they could save him so he and liz could have a nice scene, and then he could go back to beckett and pretend to still be enchanted in order to communicate with tia or something. eh, whatever. going to bed.
