Yes those are facts actually!
No, australia i know by learning at both home and school is not used for both NZ and australia. Australia for a fact is separate from NZ😖 I do admit to not knowing everything, but i certainly know which continent australia is put into.

Err... just do me a favour and read my posts again, will you? What you learned at school was ONE opinion. There is no central, undeniable opinion, just different interpretations.

...

You don't follow the conversation, do you?

Your term exists. But it is uncommon. Read those two sentences. Repeatedly.

Which term are you refering to?
Actually i am, by telling you the continent😖 what you are saying to me makes no sense, because i am talking about the exact same thing as the others. Not many i know call australia as the contenent name! Those last two sentences are clear!😖

The term 'Australasia' genius.

Ok, simple question- you say what you say is a fact. 'Fact' according to who?

I only said the continent was 'Australasia' 😖
That is a fact for example.

Australia is what the CONTINENT is generally called

Australasia can refer to different things, The country Australia and New ZHealand for one.

Oceania is another term that is used for those.

None is more right or anything. Australasia is just not used ...well...anywhere I have ever been.

Maybe but this is what i am meaning. I typed in australasia, thats exactly what both those two countries are in!

This is the continent 'australasia'. I have noticed it said many of times over the television. There is only really one name of a continent. Yes oceania etc are used too.

Could you answer my question please?

Your statement "there is only really one name of a continent" is untrue.

That is not true.

Here, since you like geography and such so much, I enjoyed this wikipedia article greatly:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continents

Europe is not exactly called anything else is it? Neither is n.america. Maybe those terms are used however, australasia is the proper term of the continent. Bardock i did not say you were wrong by those terms you said, you are right, all i said was that the proper term , continent name is australasia. I am not wrong for saying NZ and A are in Australasia, i wouldnt be wrong at all!YES but it is also not wrong to say australasia either, it sounds better. Australa is one out of those two countries.

But it is not the "proper" term. It is an uncommon and unused term.

Did you read my post earlier?

Both Europe AND North america are called differently in other places. Some places call Europe and Asia one continent called "Eurasia" and some people call both North and South America one continent called "America"

Please do the courtesy of reading other people's posts proplerly.

Again, you are wrong to say it is the 'proper' term. There is no universal proper term, and the word 'Australia;' is more common. You came in saying the person who said 'Australia' was wrong. YOU are wrong to say that. The poster was right.

I use it. See
Australasia is a term variably used to describe a region of Oceania: Australia, New Zealand, and neighbouring islands in the Pacific Ocean.
People can call it any of those terms listed there, what i use is certainly ONE of those. If i say australia, people will think i am talking about that one country.
still i am not wrong over saying that australasia can be used aswell.
So you are saying that australia is not one individual country from NZ? i think it is.
I am sorry if i did mistake you once there, though i still call it that myself, like some people do.

Actually, no, if you are talking about continents, a lot of people will know exactly what you mean.

Again, remember my Luxembourg example?

And once more- you didn't come in here saying 'Australasia can be used as well'. You came in saying the person who said 'Australia' was wrong. That was incorrect of you.

Australia is actually a country though, therefore does seem confusing saying that as the continent, just like if i sais an individual country in europe. If i was incorrect, doesnt mean i didnt know about this stuff in general, i do. Maybe just those slight confusing things i dont.

Err, but no-one is saying that Australia isn't a country... simply that it is also a name for the continent...

Very weird.
Well then if its ONE country, australasia sounds much better for the multiple countries alongside australia. Seems less complicating. Do you not think that it seems less complicating too?
I do not say you are wrong at all, a lot of my explaining has come out terribly wrong to be honest. Though i know i was a little wrong there too😛 But it sounded like i was being called the wrong one for pointing out the word 'ralasia'

It might be less complicating, if you could get people to agree what 'Australasia' means, but that doesn't have any prospect of being true any time soon.
