Very weird.
Well then if its ONE country, australasia sounds much better for the multiple countries alongside australia. Seems less complicating. Do you not think that it seems less complicating too?
I do not say you are wrong at all, a lot of my explaining has come out terribly wrong to be honest. Though i know i was a little wrong there too😛 But it sounded like i was being called the wrong one for pointing out the word 'ralasia'
I prefer Oceania in that case.

I did not particuarly understand what oceania was until you just learned me. I see there are some things you know a lttle more about tan myself😂 It is just a confusing continent.

Unfortunately, again, people can't seem to agree exactly what 'Oceania' is either.

I have understood, but when something is rather confusing and has several names, its hard to remember😂
Thankyou for telling me the oceania thing though😛

I also suggest you look up the difference between 'fact' and 'rudely stated opinion'.

The capital of Luxembourg is Luxembourg. There is no rule that says you cannot use the same word twice for things of different scale.

The most commoinly used model calls the continent AND the country 'Australia'.

There is also a Belgian provicne called Luxembourg 😄

Yeah, I just personally prefer the term.

I didn't mean people here don't understand it... I mean there is no central definition of what the word means!

In as much as these things have a particular definition, though, I understand that, normally, 'Australasia' is considered part of Oceania, and that it is a little dodgy calling Oceania a Continent, as opposed to being a kind of vague geographical region. It'd be like calling the Pacific Rim a continent.

im inclined upon research to believe you both.
wherever soin is from they probably still say astraliasia.
i call carbonated sweetened beverages 'soda' and my annoying neighbors to the west call it 'pop' (how lame).

soin, there is no proper term for it. most people around the world just call it all 'australia'

Yes.I agree there, again apologizes for my one mistake😂
Oceania/australasia can be both used right? Just oceania is mostly common😛 But people would understand if i say australasia, like my family does. Depends where you live i believe.
kat 😂 😛
In UK they do sometimes call it oceania.

Hey! She's from the UK! Trust me, there is no universality of the term 'Australasia' here! Like i say, the Atlases tend to say 'Australia'.

bardock asked if onyl people in the UK use it. It seems the term is not used at all in mainland Europe, but it is certainlt used in NZ and Australia itself. Differently.

I am living in UK of course.😖 But i dont necasarilly say things like the british do always How do you know that i have not been from somewhere else in my lifetime😖? People inside of europe, like yourself bardock may well use that, but like another member just said here and some other countries may be different😂

Well, see, Oceania includes all those tiny islands wayyy out East that don't really have a continental claim... and some people don;t even include 'Australia; when they say 'Oceania'... generally speaking, people don't mean the same thing with 'oceania' and 'Australasia'. I mean, your defintion earlier said it was just Australia and New Zealnd. That;s very different from what Oceania means.

Maybe those Geographers should meet after all.

It is extremely confusing, thats why i say australasia, it is a definite term for both australia and the other countries surrounding. The other terms are confusing in my opinion, hence why i say that😂 Easier. It still means those.

By the end of the meeting we would probably have 75 continents and 48.000 geographical regions most of which occupy the same space...

I don't think those people would ever agree on everything. They sure as hell can't now.

LOL!
I am agreeing here😛
I noticed this thread is no longer about europe😂One reason to why i thought it would be great having another forum on countries😛
–noun Australia, New Zealand, and neighboring islands in the S Pacific Ocean= australasia. All of oceania.

I've added Montenegro to my list droolio

I have yet to visit Europe, hopefully'll do it in the near future with a couple of friends.
