To be fair to devilgoblin he did state only a slugfest, none the less hulk gets pummled.

I still don't see where people get the idea that Surfer wasn't affected by Hulk. The guy had to shield himself from the barrage of attacks- and this was right after he performed a gamma drain on Hulk.

Hulk has a load on potential but brute strength can only get you so far. He could maybe handle one of these at a time, but both...highly doubtful.
