What specific talking points of Biden's campaign have you deciding on him...of course if forced to.Before you think I am antagonizing you, I am not; I think you try to be well informed-politcally-and I would like to "hear" your opinion on this.
Well, I think it helps that Biden has been involved with foreign policy for such a long period of time (I think something like thirty years). So I mean, he has the experience (compared to almost any other candidate -- Republican or Democrat) in that field.
Like I said though, it is a "forced" issue. So I mean, most of Biden's ideals I completely disagree with. Like for example, a national smoking ban, not wanting to lower the drinking age, voting for No Child Left Behind, American troops being put in Darfur, saying Iran and North Korea are huge threats to the United States, gun restriction, et cetera. Granted, some of those things are minor, but really show a lack of what I look for in a candidate to be honest (even though Biden did say voting for No Child Left Behind was a mistake).
I could just never vote for Edwards, Obama nor Hilary because they have all these ideas to fix America (likewise so does Huckabee for that matter), yet all that stuff involves an expansion of the government and more taxes. Like Edwards, his "College for Everyone" stance. While I agree College is a ridiculous amount of money. It is an earned status. Not a right. He wants to make school available to thousands of kids in Africa and while I agree that is a laudable act certainly. We have to take care of the failing education in America first. And furthermore, who is paying for all this (I would pressume the American people of course). Going to foreign policy again, he also advocates increasing the sanctions on Iran (which doesn't hurt anyone but the civilians in Iran and why do that to them?).
As for Obama. I really just do not like this guy. He is all talk and no substance. I watched him on Meet the Press for literally like an hour and still have no idea where he stood on anything. He just uses all these general cliches about fixing America and the world, but doesn't really say anything about the "how" aspect of it. That is a turn off on me. Likewise, Obama also said "free public college" for anyone with a B-average. I sure hope that was a joke. Not to mention his statement on foreign policy experience. Stating that since he was overseas as a child for a few years, he has experience in those matters. What? He also advocates seemingly universal Healthcare which I am opposed to. And I disagree with him and many that healthcare is a right. It isn't to be honest. It seems to me, he is more or less also for amnesty in regards to illegal immigrants.
And on to Hilary. Both her and Obama (like many other candidates) get money out the butt from corporations and what have you and that scares me. It seems she would hold their positions and agendas more than the American people. I don't like how Hilary also seems to undermine blacks to a degree. I can't remember where she was, but it was somewhere south I believe and she started talking like an "African-American" I guess to be more like them or something. It was odd. She also is in favor of Universal Healthcare and a restriction big time on guns. She also mentioned something like giving every baby five thousand dollars to put towards college. What the hell?
I mean, there are few things few and far between that I do agree with Edwards, Obama, Biden and Hilary. I don't expect a candidate to be perfect. But they have too many differing opinions of what government 'ought to do than I do.
I mean really, I don't even know if I'd go with Biden. How about Gravel haha?
