Democratic Nomination?

Started by Strangelove101 pages

Here's something to stimulate conversation:

No matter who wins the nomination, if the Democratic nominee is elected President, then he/she will have to resign their Senate seat. Both New York and Illinois have Democratic governors: Who will they appoint to fill the vacancy?

Around a year ago, you thought Obama should be the next president, what happened with Obama and/or Hillary since then that makes you support her first now?
That was Alliance. No biggie though, they are basically the same person.

I've always noticed a few schitzophrenic qualities about successful presidential candidates...their idea of an openminded attitude.

Interesting point. I don't know how the process or what kind of person takes up that position. How would the process go and who would be most likely to take such positions?

Every state has different laws regarding Gubernatorial appointments to the Senate.

Do have have delegate votes?

I found an excellent link a few weeks back on who won exactly what but I can't find that site anymore...I was actually running several statistical analysis on the results and I was going to post the data here. (Of course, I would have Bardock42 verify the accuracy of the data before I "offcially" posted it here.) I had an excel document typed up and everything with all the major candidates and all data from the first 4 states and I just started on the math for some ideas I wanted to try out...I saved the document and shut down my computer but I forgot to save the link to the site I found!!!! 😠 😠

Anyway, how about those delegate votes? 🙁

Wikipedia?

Hey, according to Wiki, Obama is only 14 delagates below Hillary. As an Obama supporter, I am pleased.

Does it mean super-delegates or ordinary delegates? Last I checked he was ahead with the ordinary delegates.

Total delagates.

Darn-it. I'm rooting for him too, and if wikipedia is right, that means he's lost support. Looking at ordinary delegates, Obama was easily ahead on super-Tuesday, but I haven't watched closely since. He was only behind if the super-delegates were weighed into the account...and if he doesn't have the ordinary delegates now, he must be loosing support.

No, that's the point, it isn't. Especially since this is the Democratic nomination thread.

**** I think Obamas gonna win. The interesting thing is that eventhough hes black just like he said people are not voting for him for that reason. People are really fed up and they want change and he represents that, the fact is black is just makes its more interesting.

Not necessarily. It's going to be a brokered convention, and anything can happen there.

Over the past few days, Obama has chalked up victories in Washington state, Nebraska, Louisiana, Maine, Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Next Tuesday, Wisconsin and Hawaii vote.

*sigh* To tell you the truth your right im getting ahead of myself a bit. At any rate I think he has a good chance of winning especially now you can see Americans really want and need change.
