I saw it for what it was, a use of history to point out why that particular nomination process reached an end in th emonth of June. However, she did set herself up for ending the process in June.

well the reference to RFK's assassination could be construed as suggesting the possibility of Obama being assassinated, which then some could imply to be racial.

Yes, people like you or I saw it for what it was, but others don't think that way.

Her intent was pretty clear, yes. I have no doubt that she simply meant it as a reference to things that can happen in June and so on. It was just the worst possible reference she coulda made. She really shoulda known better.
