In a state dominated by farmers and evangelicals; to get 10%, beat Guiliani (who was in Iowa more than Paul), and only be three percent behind the third place slot; that is impressive.
There is nothing "impressive" about 5th place, hell, the Olympics doesn't even give a medal for 5th (or 4th for that matter). If there were 50 candidates, and RP still got 5th, I'd maybe see your point... why do people always try and celebrate mediocrity.

You have to take circumstances into account. Someone without arms and legs finishing a hundred meter hurdles in 50 seconds is impressive to me, even though those with arms and legs did it in 12.

Your analogy is flawed, as RP certainly isn't like a quadruple amputee trying to swim and 5th place out of 7, still isn't impressive.

I watched the debate last night and actually kinda liked Ron Paul. He made interesting points, and I loved that he didn't engage is mud slinging like everyone else. Also his joke about how he and Obama are of similar age and that is why they are both popular with youngsters was quite good.
Bah, you're biased, you've already stated that you masturbate to RP pictures. Your opinion doesn't count!
Originally posted by RobtardWell, fair enough. I wasn't overexcited about the vote either. Though I did enjoy that at least 10 percent of the Iowa Republicans still remember what conservative is.

Objectivity is key. I'm not saying he did great in Iowa. Not at all. I'm saying putting the situation into perspective, he did impressive.
It's a simple concept to comprehend here.
Quite a good interview.

Here is an interview from the Larry King show with Ron Paul. (Gasp...someone actually gave Ron Paul screen time?)Edit: Where does Ron Paul hope to cut back in government spending to make up for the 1 trillion in revenue. (Which is NOT net income. The IRS does have an operating cost in the billions, I presume.)
We reduce the number of foreign bases and foreign aid? We reduce the amount of money spent on foreign campaigns and bring many troops back home? We get rid of social programs that are falling under anyway? I need this questions answered. I HAVE to know the "hows" of this stuff.

Continue taking circumstances into account. Someone without arms and legs has your support for becoming president of the United States? I'm not nearly as impressed by Ron Paul as I am by his supporters.
