Tell me more.
It just broke today, but someone released a series of letters that were "written" by Paul, in which he makes a number of salacious statements about blacks and gays.
Apparently they were written and released for the first time at some point in the early 90s, when he was running for Congress. So, they're not news to him, but they are to the vast majority of the American public.
Originally posted by Devil KingI knew about those. I think that's been around a little longer. He made statements about it on his website.

Last Night's debate was a ****ing JOKE!
Ron Paul crushed last night, and all they did was mock him.
I understand he's not the most charismatic public speaker, and I truly respect the fact that he doesn't smile all the time.
The man was mocked repeatedly by the moderators, the participants and the audience. I have nothing but respect for a man that goes on national television and makes perfect sense, relays it with understanding, all the while knowing he's going to be mocked.
Frank Luntz, a FOX News bobble head that bears a striking resemblence to Mr. Toad from the wind and the willows - with his wide, seeminly oxygen deprived lips and low hanging jowls- is a rising political analyst that moderated the 28-member panel that was allowed to give minute by minute reactions to the debate, via hand held reacto-meters (I assume, I have no idea what they're called), pointed out that the panel's reactions to everything Paul said was registering the lowest numbers he'd yet seen in any of the debates. When asked to express their opinion by a show of hands, the majority of the 28-member panel said that Thompson had won the debate, followed by Huckabee. When asked who lost, every hand in teh room went up for Ron Paul!
(on a side note, I have seen Luntz on a hand full of political shows, most noteably Real Time w/ Bill Maher, and the fat, ignorant **** can't hold his own in a debate to save his own bloated life. It just goes to show how far too many people on FOX are pin heads who can only truly make themselves stand out in a room when they're the person in charge of the room. He's one of thos people, like Peter Jackson, whose lips are always wet, giving the appearance and impression that he's a slob)
I honestly can't believe that FOX didn't cherry pick the panel. Even in a state like S.C., there can't be 28 random people that were unable to understand the logic in what Paul said in that debate. I honestly kept expecting Paul to shout: "Christ People! You're not running for President of the World!" It's a phrase I could almost see hanging in the back of his mouth.
Despite truly believing that many of his goals are unrealistic, it's clear he's the brightest person on the Republican stage and I have nothing but respect for him fighting to be heard, despite knowing that he's just going to be laughed at and mocked.
Ron Paul was hit pretty hard on the 8th by James Kirchick
on the THe New Republic.
Story titled Angry White Man "The Bigoted Past of Ron Paul", coincidence?

And it has no facts to back it up. It was just something dug up by a neoconservative website trying to sling some mud at Ron Paul (because realistically there isn't any).

Anyways, yea you can easily see the level of Ron's intelligence compared to the rest. Well said.

No, I listen well. You said he doesn't believe it but uses it. I said he doesn't even say it. He always denies that he says that. So, how is he "using" it. I think we know who isn't comprehending here...and...it's not me.No. You don't know how I perceive your foreign policies. You just know that I made one point. That your country won't get attacked if you aren't over there. There are more points. But this one relates most to your "They will think we are cowards cry" approach.
Because your economy right now is so awesome? Borrowing money from communist countries all over the world. Ha. The dollar is close to being worse less than the Australian Dollar. Yeah...the Australian one...haha. Yeah, your strong foreign policy is really helping your economy. A diplomatic, non intervention approach would be an intelligent idea for the US as well as most other countries. Your nation building doesn't work. It costs you money, puts big businesses even more into control and kills the lives of thousands of Americans. Sorry, if you have no idea what you are talking about, maybe you shouldn't talk at all.
So what? At least that is a slightly political issue. Voting for someone because they cried on TV now, as it apparently does happen in the US, that's idiotic. So that point is pretty stupid. Your voters are idiots, good, I thought that was a well established fact after two terms of Bush....the rest of the world knows it, should start knowing it yourself.
I think they were pretty clear. They always related one point you made that needed specification. Answers would have been easy.
"Why [do you think McCain should win]?"
"What do you mean [with "he has only has one [sic] that makes him the wrong guy for the job in specific]?"
"How do you figure that [his foreign policy is too logical]?"
I wasn't referring to eligibility. I was referring to electability.
And I like McCain because he can control congress.

But, he can't even raise his arms above his waist.
He's a slimy little turd who's convinced too many Republicans that it's his turn to be president.
I also have zero respect for his military service. If he had any respect for it, he would say it's what qualifies him to be a war president. If he had truly learned anything, his policy would be to end the war as soon as possible and get those soldiers out of there.
