Top 3 Debut Albums...

What are your top 3 debut albums???

Is This It? - The Strokes

The Clash - Self Titled

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables

Jets to Brazil - Orange Rhyming Dictionary

Stone Roses - Stone Roses

-AC

my top 3

Grace by Jeff Buckley

August and everything after by counting crows

heartbreaker by Ryan Adams

Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
Jay Z - Reasonable Doubt
RATM - S/T

That's all I care for, anyway..

DIRK WEARS WHITE SOX - ADAM AND THE ANTZ
FRESH FRUIT FOR ROTTING VEGETABLES - DEAD KENNEDYS
SURFER ROSA - THE PIXIES

Dr. Dre-The Chronic....3 million copies, set trend for "ganstat rap"
Snoop Doggy Dogg-Doggystyle...5 million copies, first rap album to top pop charts.
Eminem-Slim Shady LP...sold well, was the first credible, mainstream success of a white rapper.

And although we may hate it:

50 Cent-Get Rich or Die Tryin' (not first album, but first widespread release)

with 10 million copies, games, sneakers, movies, friggin sport water and books, the man turned hip-hop upside down and carried it on his shoulders for 2003.

So, you're basing your top albums on commercial success and not content?

Alrighty then...and MC Serch did fine with 3rd Bass, as a white rapper.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
The Smiths by The Smiths
Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine

The question was top 3 debut albums, and I picked a genre. (hip-hop)

No specifications were given, my bad. 😛

Plus, MC Serch is a dick now on "The White Rapper Show."

Last night he let two of the better MC's go because of some dumb challanges.

Actually, that whole show pisses me off.

It's retarded to have them doing the crap that they do, and not rapping. 😛

I actually saw that. Kind of embarassing, but Vanilla Ice actually has it better off now than he does.

As far as requirements er whatever, it's cool. Those are still supremely important albums to the genre, kind of like my first two.

Too hard to choose.

Definitely Grace.

I'd like to say Mr Bungle, but Patton had released something himself, albeit a different band.

Probably the same as Bardock's, but with The Blue Album instead of The Smiths.

Grace by Jeff Buckley;
The Blue Album by Weezer;
Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine.

is this it?
funeral
slanted and enchanted

EDIT:

The Clash - Self Titled

Jets to Brazil - Orange Rhyming Dictionary

The Weakerthans - Fallow

Mr. Bungle - Mr. Bungle
Turn on the Bright Lights - Interpol
RATM - RATM

Off The Wall (Not Really, but it's like his first non-kid superstar album, it's his Epic records debut 2 so whatever) - Mike
Emergency on planet earth - Jamiroquai.
Are You Experienced? - Jimi Hendrix

And maybe instead of Off the Wall since it's not really a debut I'd like to take 'St. elsewhere' by Gnarls Barkley.

And Prince's debut sucks.

lol

While I know that Prince's debut isn't the best, it didn't suck ass.

I can't pick a top three for some reason, I'm also lacking some debut records from my collection. 😑

surfer rosa isn't a debut.

Ooo, it's tough, but here's what I've come up with:

Ten - Pearl Jam
RATM - Rage Against The Machine
Catch A Fire - Bob Marley

So, there we go. It looks like I win again.
