The White Stripes Debut is pretty damn good ! I almost forgot about that one, ...hmmm maybe I'd slot it in my top 5.

1. O ~ Damien Rice
2. Under the Surface ~ Marit Larsen
3. Herzeleid ~ Rammstein

Though these three albums are no where near my favorites, i have to acknolwedge that these three albums launched these artists careers like no others.

Led Zeppelin--Led Zeppelin ( Though my fav band, this has to be the greatest debut album ever )

Greenday--dookie

jimi hendrix--are you experienced. ( in a time of racial seperation, This album had to work for jimi succeed in a rock market of white performers.

I'm not basing this off of innovoation or stand out performances, just the impact these albums had on the performers careers. Even though zeppelin would probably have went on to sucess eigther way, This album was crucial in them afording to experiemtn with new sounds.
greenday, nearly, and i say nearly liberaly, revolutionized punk rock. They had finally bridged the gap of of sucessfully mixing punk and rock together in a streamlined package accepted by the mainstrem market. Greenday had a chance to start a movement of punk rock, but only wanting to make fun music, this chance only opened the gate to what is now "pop punk"

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People say I Am, That's What I'm Not

*Dons anti-Tool kit, and legs it*

LIZ PHAIR - EXILE IN GUYVILLE.

ok, and now the others.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell

Beck - Loser EP.

I've got another good one:
The Gold experience - O(+>
