The High Templar Triumvirate (Me, DarkC and Puzzle) have decided to make these "Hidden motives" public because it's driven away members and it's upsetting people and it's having them asking questions and wondering.

*Drum Roll*

Okay, the true reason for TFT's existance is:

"To make the forums a better place to post."

We basically figured we'd try to somewhat influence the halt of people who randomly bash threads or people who just attack members for no reason. Our purpose is to attempt to slow that down and report it when we see it. If we get into a heated debate or someone insults us, the general idea is to just report it. Fueling it only gets the defendant in trouble and the attacker gets some heat taken off.

The whole general purpose was to make the OTF more friendly. By making it a secret, we've caused damage obviously.

I've changed it completely. Starting a new leaf. People can now join without invitation just by merely asking.

I do, actually. I've looked at the list and the ones that do venture into actual debates, aren't very good at them. There's a reason they're not well known in the more debate orientated parts of the forum, you know.

Because obviously the elitism inherent in this whole thing and the multiple threads on ut is the best way to go about it? You know duplicate threads are against the rules thus making your entire little thing hypocritical to your actions?
