But the Doomsday and Superman portrayed by Dan Jurgens was pretty weak. The Million nukes explosion was the greatest feat of that ear. It wasn't until Morisson started writing JLA did his power levels start reaching Silver age proportions. Coincidently Doomsday has never really been a threat since this period.

agreed, though in the ultimate state he was throttling gogs left and right as if they were nothing at all. and he DID fight them for what, 100 years . . .

that's . . . pretty impressive. 😬 that version of gog was ridiculous, though he became a hero.

This thread just isn't the same without Xmeat.

I'm sorry mate but i would have to disagree there, true Gog wars went for century's but the comic never really suggested that Doomsday made any real head way.

He was quite impressive but i thought that Kelly's final run on action was pretty ordinary, especially seeing how good the writing had been previously.

Although Hunter prey Doomsday seemed like a beast one has to account for the low level at which Jurgens portrayed both Darksied and Superman. I mean for Christs sakes Superman was struggling with Nukes and planes.

IMO the best feats shown by Doomsday are when he and Superman went on an Imperiex rampage. Although Joe Casey tends to portray Supes in a completely contrasting way as Jurgens does. 🙂

Oh yeah. Besides the "Mob" aspect of the show it's close to a Italian-American family from the Northeast USA.

It has a LOT of similarities with most catholic family's, mine included. I think its ****ing hilarious though. It makes you really want to eat loads of pasta, go to strip clubs and beat up anyone who makes phone calls in restaurants and on trains. 🙂

i never said he made head way. i said it was impressive he fought that level of opponent for that length of time, yah, er, mate. 🙂

i'll not argue either of those points save to say i think h/p really WAS a beast. 🙂
