Yes, the two words contain two different definitions, but if Gary was the original and I effectively distorted it by adding an "O", I'd have a distorted word from the original if I applied distortion. Those two animals haven't been applied to distortion, unless you have proof that they were either made alone from singular entity ideals or each one did NOT branch off of the other. For all you know, Gary is a distortion of Gory, and the other way around.
