I'm a GR fan but I thought it was a piece of shit.Too cheeseball, which I expected, but it should have went for the darker more serious feel like Blade 1. Instead it seemed aimed towards the younger audience - which is just stupid since one of the main characters was "satan". (technically mephisto, but the movie treated him as the biblical satan, which was crap)
For all those who say the movie wasn't good because .....
'You didn't see mephisto and Blackhearts true forms'
Let's be honest , they'd look f*cking ridiculous.
Could Mephisto LOOK anymore stereotypical ?
"Oooh , look at me i'm the devil , my skin is all red and firey and I have a claok , but neglect to war a shirt " !
Blackhearts Even WORSE
A lizard with dreadlocks...a F*CKIN LIZARD WITH F*CKIN DREADLOCKS !!!!111111
If their true-forms were shown the film would have been rated even LOWER then it already is.
I thought it sucked. It's storyline lacked, the main villains were all pretty much predictable and lamely portrayed; Johnny Blaze was miscast but I think despite this Nicholas Cage did a fine job portraying a character he isn't really meant for. I forget the name of the woman, but his love interest in my opinion is just unnattractive to me - there could've been a lot more action, of which the existing action really should've been better thought out and expanded, and probably a bit flashier and more of a challenge for the protagonist. Also, the angles used for certain shots... make it seem like a cheap 60's film.
I saw it last Saturday and I really liked it. It was a fun movie. That's probably the best word that can describe it, fun. The movie never took itself too seriously, which looked like the point from the beginning. It was such a fresh concept in the comic book movies to see something like this.
Nic Cage's performance was something that still remains in my head. It was so...unique. Offbeat enough to make a difference but in a good way. And Fonda completely owned his role.
The action scenes were short but very visually charged. I mean when he drives his motorcycle up and off the building, that was some awesome stuff. I wish his battles with those elemental villains were longer, but they were still good.
And I really liked how Ghost Rider defeated Blackheart. It was so simple and yet ingenious at the same time. When it happened I instantly had that "Of course!" moment lol.
why watch a comic book movie and say it lacked depth?
are you guys expecting a shawshank redemption type or dead poets society kind of dialogue?
anyway, i wouldnt totally say it sucked but at the same time it didnt blow me off, kinda so-so...
at least i think its BETTER than superman returns!
ooooooooooooohhhhh! 😱

I actually think the comic version of Blackheart would've looked really cool on the big screen. I think they could've pulled it off.
This movie was pretty bad, but in a way, fun.

I don't know what a lot of you are b!tching about, I quite liked it ..... then again, I don't get hung up on characters not looking identical to their comic counterparts ... wtf was up with people complaining that Wolverine was too tall in X-Men?😬
or Kingpin in daredevil being played by a black man
