I was a performance major for 2 years, and still play quite often. And yes, the similarities are myriad....like I said, I should have edited in that comment to begin with.

P.S. I will admit, however, that with sigs, a lot more than I'd care to admit is probably "how does it look to me"...though I try to work in technical aspects as much as possible too.
Yay violins!
I really want to start playing again, it's been a few years. First I need to afford a new violin though and yeah, they're a bit pricy. Not really a luxury I can afford.
I was a art major originally (digital media to be specific), but pretty soon came to a realization...art is my hobby. My main hobby, that is. It's probably one of the most important things to me. But if I was going to be doing it for a career...it'd turn into an obligation. I would HAVE to do it constantly, instead of just creating things on a whim or when I get random inspiration. If I did that...I would run the risk of getting bored with it, of getting fed up with it...not really something I would want to happen.
Plus, I really don't think I would have been able to get used to creating things within restrictions and not being able to just flow and see what happens. I dunno. It just would have been hard for me and I'm just glad I realized that.
