Final Round Sig Tourney

I'm definatly interested in graphic design. Ive always loved art and I hope to go to college to be a designer and make it my career. 🙂

My very good friend wanted to do that. We were both good artists, but I pursued a career in science.

He chose art, and hated it. As Lana mentioned, just make sure that you're wiling to fuse art buisiness work together. My frined didn't like it and hated the artistic pressure, the demand that pieces be done.

Ironically I can tolarte that. I'm not trying to discourage you, I think its a great career. Just be prepared and make sure thats what you want.

Hmm. I dunno. Art is my strong point and i honestly cant imagine myself doing anything else. I find it easier to do things when having a set theme or idea. I dont know if thats what you mean by the demands. Or is it that they restrict your creativity?

Make sure it's in demand in your area too.

Both. Sometimes clients want stupid things, like designs that are way to complex, or elements that don't fit in well. You can have a basic creativity in anything you do, but you have to meet specifications. (Kind of like this duel where we had to include 4000 different items)

I have always wanted to be a graphic artist and went to college for it and after years of trying to find a job finally got one. It is a very tuff business to get into, and as Alliance said you have to put your "style" and "taste" aside when doing work for clients. They do like some of the crappy stuff that I have done but they are paying the bill so they get what they want, you do get a client now and then that will let you have some free rain over the design and that can be fun. The biggest enjoyment that I get is when I'm done designing a website, brochure or ad and seeing it out in the public and people using it or reading it is very rewarding.

The hardest part is trying to design something for a client that is picky about what they want but doesn't know what they want and you are trying to read their mind and they expect you to read their mind.pitt_nuts

100% behind ya there. They don't know what they want, but they know what they don't want....and whatever you do is what they don't want.

Alliance: I really like the animation and the lighting effect is very well done, the colors and blending give it a real mystical feeling to it which I like but a bit to over blended. The text is a bit distracting especially with the tangent lines at the bottom of the loop.

Gannon: I like the clarity of the design and its simplicity works very well, even though it has tangent lines with the text it doesn’t distract form the design and works well. The quote is hard to read because of the size. The birds though different works well with the theme of the sig.

My vote goes to Gannon so with a count of 3 to 1 the winner is Gannon.

Wow I really thought Alliance had it. Nice duel Alliance. Your sig was quite good. Thanks to all the judges for setting up the the tournament.

Yeah we could duel next week. On one condition. That the render is modern/high tech. I'm tired of medieval type sigs. glare

This sig isn't mideval, but I do agree that the Middle ages suck total ass. The world ended in 476 CE.

(and magically came back around the 1850s)
