Which contradicts your original statement.

Because I believe that there must always be social problems--or, at least, the perception of social problems...

I fail to see how I've contradicted myself.

Also, for those against same-sex marriage, it's not about gays getting "less rights."

No, I think they {racism and homophobia} have a purpose and contribute to the overall stability of society.

While you later clarified, next time be a little more strightforward with your statement, instead of, imo, just trying to piss people off.

Shhh, you've uncovered my hidden motive.

ooooh....I'm brilliant 😬

Go eat shit

Go eat a dick.

Now you can all remind us how bisexual you are and how you have figuratively eaten a dick in the past.

Oh, I'm so good to you.

I need to get tested, because my freind Andre who shoved his sausage down my mouth is promiscous himself, more so than me, and I haven't gotten him tested before doing it

why are gay people so proud to be proud ?

in my experience, poeple who brag about all the sex they get arent really getting any.

i dont know, i was just wandering why gay people are so eager make me know the they are gay. I dont dont care, you know, so please stop shoving it in my face man, before i start to care

Why the hell does it matter. Plenty of heteros talk all teh time about how "gay" everything is. Just deal with plualism and live with it.

I began to address this in the argument over pride parades. It has nothing to do with being proud of it. It has everything to do with not being ashamed of it. Take the last 40 years as an example of how ashamed people have been made to feel. Even today, kids are commiting suicide over the fact that they're gay and don't think anyone will care about them or understand...much less approve of them.

Some gay people are extremely overt, that goes without question. But by being overt, are you talking about being flamboyant? Flamers if you will? Or are they just holding hands on their way to the movies? Or maybe they're a main character in one of your favorite sitcoms.

There are extreme examples of people's sexuality on both sides of the divide. There are guys out there who are "so straight" they feel they need to express it with some ridiculously excessive or masculine truck, on which they've slapped three foot tires or tweaked the engine so it makes an obtuse sound while driving. And there are guys who are so gay they put on a clowns wig, knee-high rainbow socks, daisey dukes and a pink tank top and roller skate backwards down Peachtree Road in downtown Atlanta. (I saw this guy)

I also think saying "before I start to care" is another example of this overt "masculine" behavior. If you don't care, you wouldn't eventually reach a point where you do care; despite their behavior. Just because someone is obviously gay, be it the way they dress or walk or their mannerisms, doesn't mean they're doing it to irritate you or to showcase their sexuality.

Homophobia, or no?

I was with my cousin the other day and we met up with one of our friends who was in our debate club during secondary schooling, and they got into a heated debate.

My cousin said the following:

"It's my opinion that homosexuality may be a disorder or even a brain dysfunction, but I do not know for sure. I don't think it's natural. It just doesn't seem like it."

My friend, being a homosexual, replied with this:

"Hah, you're a homophobic person, aren't you?"

I've noticed a lot of people try this with an argument, and I think it's very ignorant. When someone disagrees with homosexuality being unnatural or does not like the idea, how the hell does that make them a homophobic? They're not expressing fear, they are expressing a disliking.

Thoughts?

This is not homophobia. Your cousin didn't even express a disliking. Either way, your friend is being ignorant, your cousin seems more open to research, but apparently lacks access to that research.

Verdict: not homophobia.

merged with other homophobia thread.

Oh, also - Both your cousin and your friend is wrong.

Your cousin is wrong because it IS natural, as in, it happens in nature, regularly.

Your friend is just giving a knee jerk response, your cousin may be ignorant, but he isn't necessarily inherently homophobic because he simply disagrees with it.

Why don't we just merge it all and call it "THE BIG GAY THREAD"

First of all, your cousin is full of BS. "disorder" "disfunction" and "un-natural" are all the opposite of homosexuality.

If you express dislike of gays, thats homophobia. If someone said "I don't like black people," that is a racist statement.

Because that would be cruel and homophobic.

And too much work.
