Thats just part of Riddler's personality. OCD is extremely debilitating (escpecially if one is a supervillian)

Ennis is actually a pretty good writer. In fact, he's probably THE definitive writer for the Punisher. His Boys series was considered top-notch and he's also writing the current Midnighter series every one loves so much.

His only real flaw is his bias against super-powered folks, but since he doesn't have Frank deal with guys like Spider-Man or Wolverine often at all, it's not really that bad.

That was actually written under Priest's pen. If it was Hudlin, chances are it would have been several times worse.

Basically, Loeb is a hack writer. For him to get something right, or write something well, is a rarity nowadays.

But he also wrote Batman hush which is a great storyline. It's one of those comics that (Partially due to Jim Lee's art) no matter how often it is read is always a fun read ✅
