Your mom is correct, however isn't that what the American TV and entertainment is all about?
Exploiting poor, mentaly ill, desparate people, who audiences cannot wait to get humiliated so they can get some sick pleasure out of getting people act in the most ridiculous ways?

Please grow up. Seriously.

That's an embarrassment to Christianity. Wow.

Then I can safely say there are a whole lot of embarassments to Christianity.

I don't believe she was right in saying many of the things she said. she gave Witchcraft a bad name and made it sound so evil!

What a fantastic way to refute my argument.

Right, let us evaluate American TV, and the reality shows, shall we.

America's Next Top Model, American Idol, The Hills ,The Survivor, Laguna Beach, The Girls Next Door, Beauty and the Geek ...etc.

Implying that anyone watches these trash shows for any reason other than to feel amused at other people getting hurt and humiliated is like saying one goes to watch nas car races to see people take left turns all day.

Come up with an argument, instead of bleeting irrelevant comments.
Im getting bored of your unresearched, undeveloped arguments, particulary in this forum.

Since when did those become reality shows?

They are American Entertainment and Television.

If you meant to discuss reality shows, I can agree with you, they are based on embarrassment and a few other traits, but you attacked the American Entertainment Industry as a whole, which I can't agree with, as it happens to be my all time favourite.

Excuse me, but you are the queen of bleeting irrelevant comments. I'm annoyed with your constant slew of anti-American comments that are both unbased and unjustified. It not behavior I feel any member should be showing, especially not a mod.

And I don't really care if you're bored.

This is a perfect example of your unresearched, undeveloped arguments. I seem to recall that you were the one disinterested in other peoples arguments. So nice try.

American TV is not all reality TV. Its not even mostly reality TV. I'd wager that the higest watched shows aren't "reality shows." So as I stated, your argument is nothing but misinformed. Not surprizing. You were probably too caught up in anti-Americansm to see what you were typing.

Bardock has addressed my point.

Seinfield is all about humiliation.

Well, all comedy is, really.

American Idol right now, I am afraid...

Shows. Plural.

I think you will find pointing out the top rated one is rather relevant as a response to your comment.

Haha, well, I would assume so, yes, though not of people in misery or of minimal intellect.

Yeah...Space Cadets being the unbeated number one.

Can't you take heart from the fact that Space Cadets was a failure in every important way?

Besides, the Japanese have the US well beaten when it comes to humil-o-tv.

apart from the odd UK comedy that has a gag count more than 3 gags per show (a rarity nowadays) pretty much all i watch is US stuff and its ****ing quality

on the downside the majority of the stuff my chick watches is from the US too and its ****ing appalling

itd be easy to think that all US tv is reality based with a quick channel surf on Sky
mtv being the worst culprit...it used to be a music channel now its this weeks popular american celeb couple having the decorators round involving comedy mishaps with small dogs

dig deep and you find gems like Curb Your Enthusiasm
its just a shame UK schedules stick them on at silly times
the average brit probably thinks that all the US watches is this weeks all american celeb couple having the decorators round to do up their mansion

Thats only true assuming that this is a representative occurrence. American Idol has been most watched twice. Heck, 60 Minutes has won "most watched" more times. Should we then say that America is addicted to blasphemous news shows?

Since 2000 (post-reality TV debut), three years the top watched show has been a reality show, three years it has not.

Regardless US TV is not defined by reality shows nor is it limited to them. Certainly the US entertainment industry is not based on it.
