They explained how Annihilus became so bad ass. He had prep and an army and the element of surprise and stolen power.

Supergirl beat the crap out of the JLA and choked MartianManhunter. He had her break K-Nite just so she would look cool. Loeb has no idea what he's doing.

The only time he's beaten more powerful character's, was under Loeb's writing. And if you didn't like my Odin comparison, then how about Silver Surfer beating Thanos several times under a clueless writer?
