My class is actually more concerned with proving statements and calculating truth values than the fundamentals of logic. So I apologize if my knowledge of 'logical fallacies is not as advanced as you'd like.
A shame. The fundamentals of logic are easy to learn. Took me no more than a few weeks of study. You should learn them. I'm being completely serious here. It's interesting to know.
From this standpoint, it seems a lot like arguments I've had with you. There have been at least a couple where I had the thought "WTF? I never said that!"
I've had that experience with you as well. All too many times. Shall we move on?
In it's basest form, yes. The strawman logical fallacy is basically putting words in your opponent's mouth.
Basically, but not essentially. In order to directly commit a strawman, you must effectively change or distort the topic to something irrelevant. Perhaps similar to a previous debate?

That's a lie. Bring up one instance where I have walked away from a discussion.
Your first thread. You, me, and Puzzle were discussing the motto of Las Vegas, in which you were categorically wrong. And Puzzle lives there for Christ's sake. I do not recall you apologizing or admitting wrongdoing. You just disappeared.
Yeah, I was wrong.
When you and Puzzle had the argument about username changes. While you were technically correct about having less usernames than Puzzle, it was a useless point to make without considering time. When it was clear you weren't going to win, you disappeared.
I had already one. The point was I had less usernames. I did at that time and point. He was balancing semantics and so was I for a while.
You still have not explained how "Read my edit, I clear it up a little" is grammatically incorrect. And since your mastery of the English language is fairly limited, I doubt you even know what you're talking about.
"Read my edit, I cleared it up a little."
😐
I admit I'm wrong every time that I genuinely realize it.
That's great, but I never you said you DIDN'T admit you were wrong.
I'll repeat. The fact that you did not understand it was a joke does not change the fact that it was indeed a joke.
Ugh, more excuses. Don't you get it?
Okay, explain throughouly how that is a joke. I'm awaiting.
There isn't much to understand. It wasn't a joke. A sloppy cover up, at the least.
I know Casey fairly well on these forums. He's a playful son of a gun. So therefore, I knew it was a joke. The fact that you did not is again, no one's fault but yours
More bullshit. Hahaha.
Pittman can be serious and forward when he wants to. He doesn't like me. He tried. He failed. He excused. He lost again. Simple.
