Putting it all together...spoilers

You know, THIS is the reason i dont post on this forum.
But reading this, i really couldn't help but add my thoughts.

It's like being in little school when you're scared to wear a certain item of clothing for fear of people laughing at you and bullying you.

Yes, i said the word BULLYING.

Looking at the above posts, this is almost exactly the same.

For F**K sakes, just let people say what they want to say, and dont jump down their throats just because you don't like what you're hearing!

What happened to this forum being a nice place to come???
All of a sudden its sarcastic, and there is an apparent trend of playground bullying going on.

I enjoyed my time here so much, but at the moment im glad i just stand by and watch, because otherwise i would open my mouth and let a very verbal assault escape.

There seems to be something of an over-reaction to mine and Katelovespirates view that Keira over-acted in DMC.

Can I point out that we are wholly entitled to our opinions and the freedom to express them? (and vice versa, of course).

I personally love the J/E relationship but I mean it when I say that I don't think the film's producers etc intended it to have quite the IMPACT it clearly has. The final kiss in DMC had to be passionate and stirring - this was the death of Jack Sparrow! - but I feel the film's producers, writers and director were over-confident in the strength of the W/E ship, and didn't expect this lustful/passionate/exciting relationship to overtake W/E in interest and popularity. They possibly wanted J/E to be a pivotal part of the plot, but mainly to stoke angst and difficulty between W/E (and to spark the rescue plot for AWE, with the effects of purgatory affecting Jack's character).

I do think that in DMC it was shown that Jack had very strong feelings for Elizabeth - and was mighty vexed! But I don't now believe she returns those feelings, apart from lust and like - but not love, sadly. I now believe she loves Will above all, even though I don't like this conclusion.

I also still maintain that Keira over-played her role in DMC, lapsing into melodrama. I did NOT state that JOHNNY did the same - contrary to what has been written about my opinions on KTTC by a poster on this board - and agree with Katelovespirates that Johnny played Jack as Jack, pure and simple, completely in character, and thoroughly brilliant to boot.

It is of course possible that in AWE, the impact of J/E has affected the final story, and hopefully there will be a J/E ending. But that is a completely different issue to my opinion on Keira Knightley's approach to her character in DMC. I think Gore and the producers had fun with her rendition of Elizabeth in DMC, but again, I don't think they (originally) intended J/E to be as BIG as it has turned out. We wait to see what happens. Just my opinion ....

I just feel the need for everyone to show a little more respect to eachother.

LOL....and totally valid one....when Kate firsted stated that Opinion on Keira's over-acting....I totally posted my opinion that I think that everyone knew exactly what they were doing!! But just like ur statement, mine is only my opinion!

The whole over-acting, over-directing, over-producing etc....was actually all fun and games, well at least for me, i cant speak for Mina (but we all know she has strong opinions , that we all, including her, know she may take overboard sometimes) But in the end thats her Opinions too, even though she can turn it down a couple Knotches!

Ever since last July I have fantasized how this trilogy plays out and in my mind it always ends j/e even when I try to make it end w/e....

See what I was saying....is that we have all interpreted this reaction between Jack and Lizzy...and it was played out by Johnny and Keira, directed by Gore..and they got the results they were looking for....they knew what they were doing....and now they half of their audience longing for more great moments between j and e...the chemistry between the two just comes naturally..and for the record....Johnny's performance as Jack Sparrow is my favorite all time Hollywood performance

Ooh, placing blame....of those of us that have no idea how this movie is going to end, there are ultimately a few ways that it can.
1. Will and Liz are the couple, Jack's over her and okay.
2. Will and Liz are the couple, Jack loses will to live.
3. Jack and Liz are the couple, Will either dies or just ends his relationship with her.
4. No couple, Liz goes off to be a pirate on her own, knowing fate will keep her connected to both Will and Jack.

I find 4 the most rewarding ending and most fitting to the characters, but if 1 or 2 is true, then I don't blame Keira for all the hype surrounding J/E, even though that's a valid and interesting opinion to have. I blame the storytellers here, T&T.

I love the movies they've written. I love Shrek 1 so much more than 2, and POTC is a wonderful series and I will support whatever they do in AWE. But like I said, if you want to downplay one relationship (J/E) and build up another (W/E), then why in the world would you want to make a triangle? There was so much that could have happened in DMC even having the compass not working for Jack. For goodness sake, there was already plenty of foreshadowing to Jack's death, they didn't have to have Curiosity if the only purpose of it was to foreshadow the fact that he was going to get screwed over by her. It was not necessary for character development, either. We know Liz has a pirate in her. She hijacked a freakin' ship. We know that she's a pirate. We also know that Jack is a good guy deep down. The whole point of most of their interactions is to establish some kind of relationship between them and strongly, strongly suggests feelings for one another. So...... if they didn't want it, they shouldn't have written it. And they're adults in the professional world of writing so they do know what they're doing and they are good at it. This is just the one problem I have with them.

i dont think I'm blaming Sparrabeth on Keira at all, but I'm sticking to my guns that no one originally intended Sparrabeth to get as big as it got. If you guys are going with the logic that the writers/director/actors are infallible, then you must be okay with them being just plain mean. Cause the idea that they would PURPOSEFULLY CREATE such Sparrabeth hype and spend a whole movie "making them fall in love with each other", as one of you said, and then totally ignore it in the next film and act like it never happened, except to have a few jabs between Jack and Elizabeth, implies the they are all just mean and nasty and playing with our emotions in an inexcusable way. I'm actually defending the writers/director by stating that they never intended it to get so out of hand. Think about it--- they've got the thing written, but they're out there filming, having fun, and Johnny and Keira are bouncing off each other with talent and chemistry, and it's exciting stuff, and for a few minutes they lost sight of the big picture and let Johnny and Keira take it to whatever extreme they wanted because they trusted them as actors. It was brilliant film-making, as we all know, really amazing stuff that was happening with them onscreen. So as a creative person, you want to use the creative genius that's happening with the actors. Right? Right. But you aren't seeing it from the perspective of the audience---- you are seeing it from the perspective of someone who knows the ending and assumes everyone else is wanting the same ending you do. That's the problem.
Does that make sense?

So ya'll know I love the idea of sparrabeth, but it's not gonna happen, guys, let's all be realistic now... I'm not being a downer, I'm just being realistic. So my deal was, I was trying to sort it out in a way to help me still enjoy the movie without endlessly agonizing over why DMC happened if they weren't going somewhere with Sparrabeth. And I figured it out for myself, the explanation that makes the most sense to me, being a creative person who has spent time involved in film-making, and knowing how the creative process can get carried away with itself.

everyone on this forum reacts strongly because they FEEL strongly about issues, and that's great. but seriously, let's grow up and realize that endlessly chanting "sparrabeth forever" is not the most mature way to sort things out. Exactly...I will love this trilogy no matter what. Everyone one here knows that I am a huge Sparrabeth fan....always have and always have been...does that mean just because I have doubts that they will get together make me any less a fan...no...does it call for me to be cursed out both on the forum and through PM"s...No. I simply agree with Kate in that the pairing of Liz and Jack took everyone by surprise including T and T....I don't think they realized how the fandom was going to react...I agree in that it got out of hand.....all I'm saying...Like Willo..they are professionals..but they are not perfect..and I think they goofed on this one....if they don't intend to have any closure/ feelings. whatever between the two....I really and truly believe, like Kate, that Keira - they way she looked at Jack, etc. was too expressive for what was freally going on....take for example the almost kiss in curiosity...after he doesn't kiss her she looks totally disappointed when she says "i'm proud of you Jack"....she should have had a smug little smile on her face or soemthing...anything but that pouty look of disappointment cuz she didn't get kissed by Capt. So, if you look at it like that, they may have hijacked (pirated) our feelings in DMC, but when it is all said and done, it is only a pirate movie.

Now, I don't know about all of you, but this forum serves as a distraction to the every day events I must deal with in my life. I don't want to see all of you arguing and fighting over a *pirate movie*. We have developed friendships here and I hope respect still reigns.

Just remember no matter if it winds up W/E or J/E it is only a pirate movie and your feelings were meant to be hijacked because these guys were into pirates and the pot of gold that came with it.

And to those who think they know how it ends, just remember a post I did months ago here. I one of the leaked scripts for DMC the words spoken by Jack were Lizzy's, Will's were Jack's and Lizzy's were Will's. So, the leaked script may have been leaked on purpose. TnT love to stir up controversy. Read their web site if you don't believe. But this Disney movie franchise has given me immeasurable pleasure and distraction to some pretty awful times lately. I would hope you ladies would think of all the good it has brought into your lives and accept the ending for what it is. The End of a wonderful story.

I totally agree with you Calypso. I love this Pirate Movie no matter what...and I am in the same boat as you. I came here to get away from the real problems in the world. The Pirate movie has been my escape. I think my downfall was getting to caught up in Sparrabeth instead of just enjoying the movie for what it is....as you say, A Pirate Movie. Hey, and getting to watch Johnny as Jack Sparrow has been all worth it. I have loved every single moment of it. To be honest, I really like Will...and even though I am a Sparrabether at heart, if they decided to end in W/E without a hint of J/E then so be it, i suppose. I know at one time I was very angry about it all, but after all, it's just a movie, a way to escape the real world.....

And to be honest....when i say I know how it will end...I don't really, what I really mean is how I think it should end. I haven't a clue as to how they will end this thing....and anyways, we will soon know come May 19/24/25....whatever.....The Disneyland Premier in May 19 - in less than two weeks....so I'm sure we will know how it ends then......

It's been fun. It's been great. I was always amazed to come onto the forum and read that their were others out there that had the same thoughts and feelings i did about alot of things.

And yes I have fond feelings for everyone...I say we forget the spoilers and stuff and just have fun the next two weeks....like loving Pirates, loving Jack and loving Johnny.....

There is no such thing of going out of hand. All has a purpose. W/E has a purpose and so does J/E. By reading both scripts of CotBP and DMC, I know what the writers intended on doing.

As Johnny said in an interview, all will come together.

One thing I can't wait is to show how people under estimate Jack's character. I loathe that with a passion. They could say whatever the hell they want about Sparrabeth being a cannon and now most recently being an 'over-acting' from the actors.

But I will be DAMNED if someone will label Jack as a bump in the road. Classify him as just a goofy pirate. As if he was a man with no emotions, feelings, taste, touch etc.

Why not Jack Sparrow? Why is it so hard to see him in a different light. Why make him into a selfish person without knowing the man's past.

There's no point in arguing any more. We keep trying to persuade one another to think on the same plane, but every one thinks differently. Thank God! Imagine how boring the forum board would be if we all thought alike. There's nothing wrong with a different opinion; no one person's opinion is less valid than the other's.

Does the fact that we all have differing opinions change the fact that every one in the forum still loves the Pirates films? I sure hope not!

So rather than talking about the contentious issue of shipping, why don't we talk about any of the other HUNDREDS of spoilers that have surfaced in the last couple of weeks.

Let's make a pact to try to not focus on shipping as much. See if you can resist 😉

I won't lie and say it will be easy for either side but it will be a heck of a lot easier than trying to draft peace treaties or responses that patch up hurt feelings.

At this point, I think we should bridge the shipper lines and try to focus our efforts into getting AWE to beat Spiderman's Box Office demolition.
