Spider-Man doesn't have the X-gene. 😐

Characters like Spiderman have been called mutants 😐

The x-gene enables you to have superhuman powers. All human beings have the ability to develop psionic powers eg Dr Strange, all the numerous people that have learnt magic, all the tibetan monks in the marvel universe have psionic powers.

If you can learn to have powers through discipline and the x-gene gives you powers, I guess all human beings have a dormant one or can develop it.

Dr. Strange doesnt have an x-gene, his powers are magic based. Magic can be learned, it doesnt change ur genetics.

Are you sure? As far as I know when somebody gains powers they have an x-gene eg Spiderman is a mutant but not a born one. Thats why he developed powers when he got bit by the Spider.

The spider altered his genes, same as the toxic waste did to DD. Like it was said, theyre just "altered humans".

A Marvel mutant is someone who is born with the x-gene and gains his/her powers because of it and not because of outside sources such as, toxic waste, magic spiders, serums etc.

And I've been called a kung fu lizard monster. Doesn't make it true ✅

Anyone pick up UXM 488 yet? I heard Doom admitted that Biology wasn't his forte? High Evolutionary was apparently the most useful out of the bad guys.

Yeah induced mutants as in the mutation isn't natural.

Really Hulk is a mutant becuase the radiation mutated his body, in fact the FF are mutated as are a lot of Superhumans.

But in Marvel to show the difference between those born with the X gene and those mutated by other means they say Mutants and Mutates.

Doom admitted he wasn't the best at something?!? 🤨

Who the f*ck is writing this?!?

I think Mike Carey. It's pretty off for Doom to admit it... humility isn't exactly his middle name... but is it really his forte anyway? When I think Doom, I generally think robotics and engineering.

Well yeah, but come on! This is Doom we're talking about here.

The guy NEVER admits he's wrong.

And why exactly would he even consider helping Beast anyway?

The premise was that in talking to the numerous heroic geniuses in Marvel trying and failing to find a cure for the current dilemma, they amassed some innovative scientific inventions/ideas and Beast is willing to give the less potent ones to the villainous geniuses in exchange for any help they can offer.

Eh, it still seems a bit out of a character for Doom to be there, but he probably only attended to steal everyone's ideas and make them his own or something 😬

But jeeze, you would think a smart guy like Beast would know that giving villains new inventions is not a good idea

Well Doom did get a videophone monitor like twice the size of the other villains... maybe that was the draw...

Yeah, he actually states that there are ideas that had been basically taken completely off the table because of their potential. But it basically illustrates how desperate he is I suppose.

Doom:"Doom demands a bigger moniter over the other attendents!"

Beast:"But Doom why does it matter wh.."

Doom:"Doom demands it!"

Well I haven't picked it up yet, I heard the actual UXM story was pretty weak...

Here's the last page of the Endangered Species back story from X-Men #200.

Is that Sugarman I thought he was dead?

I wasn't entirely sure who the woman? in the middle was.. Kavita Rao? Is she classed as a villain?

The only good thing this Endangered Species BS is doing is bringing HE back into the spotlight, which is good considering he hasn't really been seen for a while...
