Dr. Strange doesnt have an x-gene, his powers are magic based. Magic can be learned, it doesnt change ur genetics.

Are you sure? As far as I know when somebody gains powers they have an x-gene eg Spiderman is a mutant but not a born one. Thats why he developed powers when he got bit by the Spider.
The spider altered his genes, same as the toxic waste did to DD. Like it was said, theyre just "altered humans".
A Marvel mutant is someone who is born with the x-gene and gains his/her powers because of it and not because of outside sources such as, toxic waste, magic spiders, serums etc.
