Your little article stated that the magic was responsible for the storms.
If he could crush the planet magically then why coil around it? Also if ir were magic wouldnt the effects last after it was separated from the planet?

Magic is ficticious (not real). Never question the stipulations of magic. For the stipulations of magic depends on its creator (the writer).
I've many times heard of magic only working when the magical object or being comes in contact with something else (in movies, books, etc).

And you should be actually questioning Marvel about this. As they were the ones who invented the storyline and explanations. I wasn't the one who stated ethereal coil around the Earth. Marvel did. So question them.

Now you somewhat get my point about that back in the day writers had no scientific knowledge and bad common sense (excluding the situation here that we are discussing since it is somewhat believable ). Most were just high school educated fools who were mega comic fans. That is why you won't see characters now performing some of the outrageous things they did in the past.
And know that, currently, Marvel writers consult with real Physicists and other scientists when writing their comics. Thus today's comics and movies are more believable.

Now answer me
Why do think writers didn't write current Thor doing some of the rare things he has done in the past? Why don't you write the last writer on Thor and see what he says (just contact Marvel at marvel.com)?

Also if you look at the scans I provided they make many references to strength. Such as the giant claiming Thor didnt have the strength to break the coil. Why would he need strength to overcome a spell? Also, when the serpents was separated from the earth the comic stated its iron grasp was broken.

I said earlier that if the Serpent didn't let go then its head would have got ripped. Self preservation is why it let go. And know that the boat was supplying extra power to Thor as it was pulling away. If you believe Marvel contradicts itself then all you will see is nonsense (as I do sometimes). For the narrative quote on panel says that it formed an ethereal coil around the Earth. And the official handbook even said only the front part materialized. Now who writes the handbooks?
Answer: The writers do. And in which they will consult the original writers for that character if possible. I can show you proof of this if you want.

No I don't. I just disagree with Thor wins 10/10, 9/10 or even 8/10.
I believe WW has a better chance than that. Especially with her one hit wonder lasso.

well we agree to disagree thor is above her at least ninety percent of the time. thor exerts himself to win but he wins all day long pretty much.

You must never read any Diana comics.

1.She has equal or greater fighting speed.
2. She has better fighting skills (not to mention over 2000 years old).
3. Better defensive ability and skills.
Super immunity to magic and blunt force.
FTL reflexes. A super sharp indestructible tiara which can cut through anything (like wolverine's claws but supplied by her greater strength).
A lasso that is not only unbreakable but will win the fight easily if it gets around Thor.

1. Thor has better and more versatile offensive skills. Even with her better defensive ability I say his offense>her denfence (but not by much).

So we have about three things that Diana have in a useful advantage over Thor (Who's actually stronger is moot since both are capable of hurting the other-They're not wrestling now). And there is one thing that Thor has a useful advantage over Diana with which nullifies one of her advantages over him and then some. So its more like 50/50

and not 90/10 to Thor

But also know that she has at least a 40% chance of getting that lasso around him if she employs that strategy. All she has to do is hit him once to stun him first. Isn't it more than a 50% chance that she hits him a least once in this battle?

Where are you getting your information from? Boat supplying Thor with more power? This was stated nowhere in the comic.

Do you even know what ethereal means? It means heavenly. So the serpents heavenly coil was broken by Thor...... Wheres the contradiction?

Yes I know what it means. The root word is Ether (from Physics).
You need to throw your dictionary in the garbage.
As quoted from The American Heritage College Dictionary:

ethereal
1. Characterized by lightness and insubstantiality ; intangible .

Marvel even says "although his front portion materialized on Earth, Jormungand kept most of its body in ethereal form. "
And that is from OHOTMU. I can provide a scan if you want.

Use context clues and you wouldn't need a dictiontary to know what ethereal they were referring to?

Yes. I glad someone remembered me.
And I still do believe Sue can kill Thor in a fight.

Don't be so surprised.
Sue can do multiple things at once (as stated in her official bio).
That means she could fly around invisibly with her shield up and put a bubble in Thor's chest or head and explode it. No defense. And to prevent arguing in the wrong direction, I even made a thread were she has her shield and invisibiliy up before the fight.

Now don't get me wrong, in a comic Thor would win all the time but in real life (even if I had Sue's powers) or a forum fight she would win against Thor (using that strategy only though). I am basing her winning solely off a strategy that she can employ and not the fact that Thor is more powerful (as most are doing).

A second strategy (not good as the first though).
She could also shoot invisible spears, cutting discs, battering rams, etc. at Thor all while she is flying around invisible and shield up. He would'nt be able to see them coming at them to defend or her.
