Going off of what I assume your question is....

Logic keeps The United States of America from being a "Christian nation" as others would have us believe because of the fundamental American belief that everyone is equal (granted, it's been trial and error to get there....), and being in a "Christian nation" implies that Christians are somehow favored over other religions. Which would be contradictory to equality. And maybe that's how the Christians like it. Who knows.

You can't have it both ways. Either we are equal or this is a Christian nation.

No, the phrase "Christian Nation" refers to numerical majority.

Because America was founded on the Pricipal where the majority cannot impugn upon the rights of the minority, this means nothing.

How is that?

I remember a while back, you said that you'd do Batman. How does that now apply?

Cause everyone would do Batman. That has nothing to do with being gay....

Exactly, and the phrase only refers to majortiy. Not equality or superiority or anything else.

It would depend on the Batman, I don't think many would do Adam West for instance. Bale? Perhaps........

Sure you can; assuming you're christian.

My question was really sarcastic, because Sithsabre rarely uses logic when discussing his belief that the US be run as a theocracy.

Oh yeah. I forgot you and I agreed that you can do Batman and still keep your identity as a hetereo.

So again, are you saying that because the majority are Christians we are a Christian nation? You are wrong. Because we are a nation where everyone is equal, and there are non-Christians in this nation, it is impossible for the nation to be a Christian one, no matter what you or anyone else says. We are a nation of many races, religions, ethnicities, any sort of division you can think.

Logic disproves your claim.

So 82% of the country identifies itself as Christian, our laws are based on Judeo-Christian values, we have many founding fathers and presidents claiming that God is the head of this nation and that the scriptures (meaning the Bible) are our truths, you can find God written all over monuments or statues and government buildings in D.C., the Supreme Court even has the Ten Commandments posted inside the building........

but this isn't a Christian nation.

I'm sorry, but weren't you saying something about logic?

That's like saying a town where 82% of people fish for a living, read fishing magazines and watch fishing shows on TV isn't a fishing community. 😛

People in that town may now and then choose to do something else, and watch other things, and live a different life.... and they are free and more than welcome to do so.....

but they'd be foolish indeed to try to pretend that they don't live in a fishing community. 😎

(or worse yet, have the 18% who aren't fisherman control newspapers and TV stations and tell the fisherman: "keep your occupations to yourselves out on the water where it belongs."😉

aye.....logic.

Very good point, keep your religion to yourself and where it belongs; in the Churches and other places of worship. It doesn't belong in public schools, in government buildings or any other public area(s) where many peoples of varied faiths and/or lack of faith dwell.

America is not a theocracy; do you really want America to resemble or become one?

Ah...sorry. I was in a serious mood. I'm sure I would have gotten it otherwise

I'm sorry....proof? The Supreme Court has actually ruled that having the 10 Commandments inside a government building such as a courthouse is unconstitutional, so why would it be in the Supreme Court building itself? That's just silly.

And I am failing to think of any monuments that have "god written all over them." Example please?
