it said there were a HUGE pile of bodies
and since only the order, the staff, and the students were fighting, that would mean he would know, at least by face if not name, who everyone in that pile was
yet it only mentions about 4 people

Yes, I thought their deaths were kind of a let down (Remus's and Tonks's). Harry just walked right past them, and I think JK says something like "They looked like they were sleeping." And that's all we get about their deaths. I didn't even realize they were dead I went on a forum's "RIP" thread. It made Harry seem rather selfish, I thought.
As for "signs" being in the book about Dumbledore's homosexuality, I don't think there are any blatant pointer-outers. It just makes a lot of sense regarding his relationship with Grindlewald - that he was in love with Grindlewald and that's why he kept going with the evil plotting for so long. It puts a lot of things into perspective in past books, like how Dumbledore says that "love is the strongest power." He'd know, because he experienced it.

I agree about the bodies, but at the same time - gotta give the guy a chance. I think there would be a huge amount of time for grieving for Tonks and Remus later, even though their deaths REALLY got to me. she did mention it a few times.. "happiness would come... but at the moment it was muffled by exhaustion, and the pain of losing Fred and Lupin and Tonks pierced him like a physical wound every few steps."
I think also.. as much as he might have wanted to, stopping and seeing all their dead bodies would have just destroy them. I know that he needed to pay respects for them and everything, for sticking by him and fighting. But in the bigger picture, seeing all his friends die for him would have totally destroyed him. And it's not like they died techniquely for him.. they were prepared to carry on fighting before he died and after he 'apparently' died.
And yea, there wasn't signs.. and I loved how JK put in a love story for him.. not because it's sweet or anything, but as you said.. it shows the strength of love.. and how far people go for it. It was just different that it was a male that he fell in love with - but does that really matter?!
i cried when dobby died, and i almost cried when harry was walking to his death, it was like all that, all 7 years of hogwarts, all his friends and all those times, every night i sat up reading the books and stuff was all so harry could walk to his death. it was emotional.
and i NEVER cry during books, like that was the first time i ever cried while reading a book.
I finally finished the last Harry Potter book. I was reading it off and on for a year now, and about two weeks ago I finally decided to commit and finish it by reading a chapter or two each night. What a ride. I was totally satisfied with the whole book, especially the ending. I knew, as many of you did, that we'd discover Snape was good all along. I'm surprised that I managed to avoid that being spoiled for me this whole time. I also loved the very very ending when Harry and Ginny are seeing their kids off to Hogwarts, and we find out the names of their children.
The best part though was a bit more personal. None of you know this, but about two weeks ago I slid into second base whilst wearing shorts at my company softball tournament. I have the equivalent to sever road rash on my left leg. As I sat there in my study finishing the very last sentences of the seventh and final Harry Potter book, the part where it mentions his scar hasn't burned for 19 years, I got a chill through my entire body, and the scar on my leg started to burn. How appropriate! Folks, I think I am a wizard.
So, I finished Harry Potter book 7 last night.
I'm sad it's over. What a great series. I know some of you might think this should be in the Potter forum, but I know there are several here who read it that don't go to that forum, anyway . . . I'm totally bummed.
However, what a great book! I really enjoyed the ride. I was totally satisfied with the ending.

I disagree with number 3. I think they make your farts smell good! Only if they are your own, of course.
