The current crop of games are nothing but graphic and roster upgrades. Gameplay still hasn't caught up to what Aki did over a decade ago.
I do wonder what impact THQ's financial woes will have on the future of wrestling games.
I hope Aki makes a comeback and starts making the WWE games again. Def Jam:Fight for NY & Def Jam:Vendetta are better than anything WWE's put out since No Mercy.

This next WM looks to be horrible. Current plans have Cena beating Rock for the WWE title. That's horrible. Beating the Rock will only make Cena's haters hate him more. Rock should lose to somebody who can benefit from it. Punk would be a far better choice than Cena.
HHH wants his win back from Brock. Stupid as hell and once again HHH will be putting his massive ego ahead of what's best for business. Brock should be there to elevate somebody who needs it, not to make a part-timer look good.
I hope both of these plans change soon.
There's no point in Rock losing to Cena tho. It doesn't benefit either of them. Rock should lose to somebody who'll benefit from it. I wouldn't mind it if Cena cheats to win & goes heel tho. He's stale as can be as a face.

From what I hear, Rock is supposed to have been promised the title, so him beating Punk won't surprise me. I just wish he'd actually compete on the weekly shows...

I want to like Cena. I really do. He has almost everything a good face needs to have. He's great on the mic and knows how to get the crowd behind him. I just can't get over how bad he is in the ring. He's strong, so he gets something of a pass, but it's not enough when you make Hulk Hogan look like Kurt Angle.
I'd say he knows how to get about half the crowd behind him. He's a lil better than HH in the ring tho. He did a good suicide dive a while back.
Brock is a monster, a LEGIT monster. I've no problems w/him beating people considering he'd very likely do much worse to them in real-life. They should have made the build-ups to some of these victories better. IIRC Austin's beef was that they were gonna have Brock go over him w/absolutely no build up.

I try to watch TNA because they really have some talented people there. It just makes me sick when I see Bischoff's son or Hogan's daughter on TV tho.
HHH to me was a far more accomplished and capable wrestler than Cena. Plus, he sold things better imo.
Lesnar was like the Shield is now; everyone jobbed to him to make him look good. Heck, he was supposed to beat Kurt Angle too until the dumbass knocked himself out. Maybe he'd be tough in real life, but this isn't real life so I don't compare the two.
That may be true for them, but I honestly felt like the Smackdown series, when it was at its best, was a good representation of what was on screen every week.

When I'm talking about HHH I'll normally call him Cripple H or maybe Burials. **** him. One of the most over-rated gloryhogs ever. Foley basically made him, but Crips hates when people say it. He was average at his absolute best.
Cena doesn't annoy me as much as Crips does. I have some respect for Cena. None for Cripple H. Crips spent too much time trying to keep others down instead of just making himself better

Oh Hogan. Honestly, I still think Cena is below par, especially when even Hogan came across, to me, as a more accomplished wrestler.

* iirc, in those times, Austin got attitude problems... he complained about the storylines, and doesn't want to job to any superstar he doesn't like, esp. to a newbie (then) like Lesnar... Austin actually walked out on Raw twice on different occasions, he was already booked and scheduled at that time...

* let's just say, the in-ring character of HHH is average... i think he made some classic matches with Rock, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Taker, HBK, Ric Flair, Batista, Cena and most recently, with Lesnar... he also has mic skills... but hey, don't get me wrong, i don't like HHH... but i don't hate him either...
* on the other hand, Paul Michael Levesque seems to be the one who holding back other wrestlers that have potential to shine... well, he can't hold back the Rock, that's for sure...
