Superman's the one with the Saturn and back in minutes feat, so it stands to reason that he'd be the one chasing Surfer.

as for the GL stalemate thing... create a thread and see what arguments come up. I'm not sure if any GL could really hold up against Surfer, one on one, for very long. the range of powers that the Surfer packs, the stamina and durability are pretty awesome.

GLs used to run out of power after a while, not sure if that's changed significantly now.

The average Lantern would go down pretty hard against the Surfer.

But you take someone like Hal or Kyle? It's a draw, or a slight edge in either direction.

It's been said that the Surfer would eventually cause Galactus' downfall, I believe.

Dunno if any writer ever said that Surfer'd become the new devourer.

i would love it if surfer became the new living tribunal.

as living tribunal has served the TOA. and now has moved on to a higher place

I thought they merged, Norrin didn't actually replace him.

The only thing I want to really see from the surfer is some growth as a character. Hes worse than dream as far as changing goes.

Same here. I want to see a good writer take control of the Surfer. He's a powerful character, he's hard to write for, I understand.

But there have been plenty of GOOD comic runs with VERY powerful characters. That is no excuse.

Let's see some good writing for the Surfer!

I used to read the surfer run when Ron lim was the artist. I forget who was writing. It was cool but kinda boring. Now what would be cool if Surfer were in the DCU. He would meet up with some nasty villians and some heroes who wouldn't care for his past at all.

I think the Surfer would do really well in DC. DC knows how to write a very powerful character without making him boring. Marvel's writing at the lower-tiers is superior, in my opinion, but DC has been doing the herald gig since day one.
