Huh? But he has that whole techno-virus thing which keeps him check. He'll end up killing himself if he over does it.

Since telepathy is limited, and instant kills involving telekinesis are banned what other problem could Cable pose apart from shields?

Try and look at it this way:

If someone takes the "powers" of Cable it would be like Mimic taking Cables powers (pretend he does so at 100%). Mimic himself does not have the virus and neither would the amalgam. See the problem?

I gotta say sorry to the user, but no. I had to come up with a team of non alternates, and I don't think its fair for the rest of us who did so

About Blink

Whatever the side effects of his powers may eventually be, he still has >>>>>>> Iron Man level power at his disposal.

But didn't you just suggest a similar reasoning to the Blink issue? Being able to teleport sand into people could be seen as an ability greater then Iron Man level.

Okay that could pose a problem.

Those powers (BFR & OHK/OHKO) were banned from the start. The problem with Cable is that all of his powers are too powerful, he's out of IM's league.

I see your point, but if it weren't for the power stealing issue that BW brought up I'd still be tempted to allow him into the tourney. Anyway I guess he gets banned then.

It's been stated a few times that Cable was a more powerful telepath than Xavier and his TK is almost limitless ... how could Iron Man fight that guy when he's not holding back?

Speaking of TK/TP, what is the cap? Obviously Sinister and Cable are over, but what power level are we looking at?

someone named Justice I think.

IRRC Hasn't that been stated and then followed up on that the virus is responsible for him not being able to access his abilities to their fullest?
With the techno-organic virus he had to concentrate the bulk of his power and concentration into keeping himself alive. If anything this would only inhibit which ever amalagm character he's merged to since they would have to focus more on controlling the virus then the battle at hand.
If someone copies his powers though, then it'll pose a problem.

As for the IronMan thing, if Techno Virus Cable is placed under the same restrictions as this Tourney, then I could see IronMan pulling a few wins.

The amalgam wont GET the virus. Either way, he's banned

Fair enough, but surely if you're merging characters together they recieve both the pros and the cons of the character?

Sure, but he always has the option to just use all his power at once on an enemy.

That was for the last tourney but it is a decent level for this as well.

If they take the body they only get the virus from it.

If they take the mind they only get the power.

Point taken, but then I'd like to see the repercussions of that act on Cable.

I'm going to have to look over the rules again. Cables power stems from his X-gene which should be part of his body rather then mind. Right?
Never mind just read it. Mutant Psi's fall under Powers. I concede. 🙂

Actually if they take the mind they only get his experience and whatever weapons he normally carries.

You'd have to choose him in for your "powers" character to get his psi abilities.

be SOOOOOOOOOO much easier if a psi fell under mind . . . 🙁

but NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO goob had o make things difficult. i never really liked goob much anyway. ❌

😛

Oh right . . . I was just thinking TP/TK and associating them with the mind.

However the point still stands.

I say we should be able to just pick alternates. The rules of ten appearances or more means they won't be like EX-AM from last tourney who had very little picks.

Plus I doubt many people will actually change from there current picks because generally speaking normal versions equals more appearances meaning more feats meaning they appear to be a a lot stronger anyways.

By the Goob what about limiting Healing factors?

Bleh there goes my push for Ultimate Thor :/
