re: spiral -- goob already gave his justification (twice!) for allowing her, but so's he doesn't think i'm throwing him under the bus, ALL the judges involved in the decision making (all knowledgeable people i think everyone on the forum respects) thought she was fine and ill has chimed in as well with his blessing of her. hell, i even VOLUNTEERED to switch her out after the hubbub yesterday and was told NO, that everyone involved honestly felt she was fine for this event. that really should be the end of the story.
in that vein, i'd really appreciate it if further bitching about her was pm'd to the judges or dropped, and any other scans that you feel may 'prove your case' be pm'd to them as well. 🙂

I just found out about her powers the other day and thought that there were others who probably didn't really know what was getting drafted.
Had I know about her ludicrous feats I would have brought this all up a couple of weeks ago but I don't see why I should have to keep quiet about OTT drafts just because this has dragged on for a long time already.
If we count all her one shot knock outs against Hercules and others as OHK attacks and ban them then there isn't a problem ... we're doing the same thing with Invisible Woman and the telepaths already.

though given the context in which those ko's occurred (from behind, while both were trapped and/or engaged with another opponent AND she had a short time in which to prep the spell . . .) i don't see why they should be. if i can trap someone, why should i NOT be able to call on those spells? will nj NOT use his sword in that instance? they are close range spells, and again, BK's sword could have decapitated either one given that exact scenario AND it can channel sky-father level powers.

Also I don't see where having a few moments to power up her spells make them ok. IM can power up his repluser blasts to maximum level and that takes time. It doesn't change the power level behind the attack.
And before you go using my sword as another reference I would like to point out it isn't much sharper or more deadly than Adamantium. 😛

actually that's only partly true. it DOES take IM some time to fully amp all his systems -- prolly about the same time it takes for spiral to prep those spells. point is, neither could perform the feat if they are engaged. they need a little time to get things ready.

Given that Thor has never one shotted Hercules and Count Nefaria pounded the crap out of Iron Man at full force without knocking him out, I'd say they were that impressive.
Black Knight only has his sword & shield anyone can avoid a sword stroke by just not being in the area it's moving through ... how aften has Spiral's magic been dodged?

the attack was different from pummelling though. it's similar to how both could easily be taken down by a tp blast. they had no defense against that type of attack. many people DO. like some can't defend tp. i don't really see how the attacks are different. no tp protection=screwed in this event. no magic protection= . . . attacks banned? 😕

but i was comparing the context of the attack. she couldn't CAST that spell if someone were engaging her. that's similar to saying someone can AVOID being hit by the spell. just as someone can avoid being hit by the sword. as for 'dodging' her spells . . .? that's for you to research. i've supplied you with too much info on her abilities and limits already.
anyway, i'll drop the subject now. the spell is banned so it's pointless. i've just heard a lot about the feats and given the context and nature of the attacks and both herc's and IM's inability to defend against magical attacks, i don't think the spells are anywhere near as big a deal as they have been made out to be.

poor herc -- he always gets the shaft. i'd bet that if he and wonderman went toe-to-toe, no-holds-barred in an actual comic, it would be VERY close and that wondy would prolly take 50% of the fights. ESPECIALLY as herc was so often depicted in the avengers . . .
