hmm, non-canon evidence should NOT be considered, imo. problem is, when scans are cropped, there's no WAY everyone will KNOW they were from non-canon sources so the question is this:
do we as non-participants have the right to TELL everyone and judges that a source used was non-canon?
i'd say yes. it MAY have been a mistake made by the person posting, but regardless, non-canon should not be used to support arguments in these battles, and no one should be punished for NOT being aware they are from non-canon sources. 😬

that's a moderately large scan as well because he used it as direct evidence against one of kk's attacks.
imo it should not be allowed. what all does everyone else think? judges?

Hell, he can use it if he wants....but it's non-canon, so I doubt any of the judges will take it into consideration. We can post gibberish and Squirrel Girl scans if we want, but that doesn't make the argument valid or non-valid.
So it's not really a judge decision, and the match should just continue on.
I also doubt it was intentional, but there's obviously posts left to re-address the issue, so it becomes a moot point in context of the battle.

This isn't about the single incident shown, it's about a ruling in general.
Should alternate universe feats be valid for 616 character? I really don't think they should.
😐
It's also virtually impossible to know that that scan was not 616 unless you had read any of the Marvel Adventure comics.

i agree with scoob. and i'm not saying he did it intentionally -- hell, he could prolly find 6 scans from 616 that could prove the same point -- but SAYING gibberish, and a SCAN as evidence are 2 different things, imo.
i can say wolverine can lift 100 tons, but then everyone can call bs. however, if i then SUPPORT the bs by cropping a scan from some crazy non-canon book SHOWING wolverine carry a huge tank, that's different.
Eh, I doubt it was intentional. I thought that Marvel Adventures was canon for long time too.
On another note, when did King Kandy get so good in debating? I mean, compare this to his showing in the match 1 of Batdude's tourney, and the difference is astronomical. 😑 I mean, it's not perfect, but I really can't know who will win at this point. ✅

Hmm...
As a judge I'd have to say non canon scans/feats get the gasface. 👇
It would be considered inadmissable evidence and be disregarded in consideration of the argument.
The honace of proof of it being non canon, however, should be on the opposition within the match, so the fact that it's been brought up here by someone other than King Kandy is kind of unfair to B-Dub.
Going forward I think that non-canon objections should only be made in the battle threads by the combatants themselves.
As a matter of fact, I'd motion for a rule to be implemented that allows 3 non-canon scan objection posts that do not count against the 8 battle post quota. These posts would only be allowed for objecting the validity of scans and providing proof thereof, and you could not use them to post any combat arguments or tactics whatsoever.

I believe that there's likely been a lot of behind the scenes collaboration in this tourney (as in most of the others). Some combatants simply vote in proxy for a collective of people sharing tactical ideas. Not saying that Kandy didn't come up with his arguments and plans on his own, but the difference is very noticable in his style and presentation from the last tourney to the current.
Hopefully we can chalk it up to maturity...

So you're saying non canon scans shouldn't be allowed ... but then go on to say it's unfair that he was caught using scans that shouldn't have been allowed in the first place?
It should either be a rule or it shouldn't, if someone breaks a rule it can effect the whole tourney, not just their match.
Because of this, any rule that is broken should be brought up in this thread. It's possible that any person breaking a rule doesn't realise they are doing so and it's just as possible that the person they are facing doesn't realise they are either.
It's happened a few times already, Kandy didn't realise he couldn't mist other people and Leo didn't realise he couldn't use his time manip powers on others.
If those who notice these things don't say anything then it's unfair to the rule breaker's opponent.

after the last showing, he really only HAD one direction to go! 😛
