But, Wolverine's a comics character. Whether he has offshoot comics doesn't matter.
G.I. Joe has a long history of comics, including a 155 issue Marvel Comics run before the property was picked up by Image and DDP. You can't really compare something like Forgotten Realms to G.I. Joe. G.I. Joe has a separate comic continuity that has existed for more then 20, FR is just an adaption of the novels.
