After Crisis on Infinite Earths, all Pre-Crisis Superman stories were erased from continuity, however after Infinite Crisis it seems that these stories might once again be cannon.

What's even more amazing is that all of this was Bronze Age (immediately Pre - Crisis), where Superman and Supergirl were officially depowered and much weaker than they were in the Silver Age.
