The only DC characters i deface(which i'll admit i do at times) are Superman and Darkseid.
Superman because if you let some tell it, he's above the top tier in DC.
Darkseid because if i let some tell it, he's an abstract type character and has never been beaten.

I think it's mostly because of SHC.
The way they debate, has ran over into how i debate elsewhere.
I no longer go for the high end, but the in comic characterization.
Speedblitz is now the oddity for me, not the norm.
OE is no longer infallible, but just an uber energy attack.
No more transmutation, but energy blasts and the occasional draining, if the situation calls for it.
And that doesn't gel well over here, since in the space of two sentences, i've desecrated three KMC darlings.
And to everyone who says i hate on DC, i give you Hulk, Thor and Wolverine.

I've never hated Superman.
I hate forum superman, who's a vastly different beast altogether tho.
Forum Superman is like the guy in comics, but only mythically embellished at times, same as Surfer.
I don't hate WW.
She bores me immensely, but since i've got a hardon for all things mythic and ancient, i keep coming back.
I don't buy her comics tho, whereas i buy Superman and Batman and GL comics.
I download her comics.
I'm still waiting for Batdude to post who else i hate on from DC.
