Not really. You haven't answered why you think the Bible or anything do with Christianity is actually the Truth. What denomination of Christianity are you?You say to "ask Jesus Christ to reveal the truth." How can you be sure Jesus is the truth? You make many more references to the Bible and God, but I reiterate, you have no proof that it is the truth, so what gives you the conviction that all you say is the truth?
Well, like Luke Skywalker in "Return of the Jedi," I did what the Bible said do. Jesus put it this way:
John 7:17
If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
Question: do you will to do His will? In other words, do you desire to do what God says? Because you will never know whether the Bible is true or not unless you sincerely will (i.e. consciously desire) to do what God says. God says to humble yourself as a little child, and repent (i.e. change your ways) and admit that you have failed to do His will. Confess that you are what He says that you are: a sinner in need of the Savior. Believe on (i.e. trust in, exercise faith in, put your confidence in) Jesus Christ, confess Him as Lord, and believe that God has raised Him from the dead, and you will (not maybe, but will) be saved.
John 8:31-32
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.”
Strangelove, if you truly desire to know whether the Bible is true then simply abide in it. In other words, read it and ask Jesus Christ to open your understanding so that you can comprehend the Scriptures. Start with the Gospel According to John. This Book emphasizes the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you abide in the Word of Jesus (i.e. the Bible) you will know the Truth. You will discover that Truth is a Person: Jesus Christ.
John 18:38
Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.
Like you Strangelove, Pilate wanted to know what Truth was. Upon asking Jesus (who, by the way is Truth personified) he (i.e. Pilate) came to the realization that Truth was knowable, and that it was a Person. Pilate confessed that he found no fault in Jesus--at all.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Truth is a Person. So it follows that if you know the Person (Jesus Christ) that you will know Truth. Isn't this what you seek Strangelove? Once you know Jesus you will be able to know the Truth relative to the Bible, and you will be able to say as the Apostle John said:
1 John 3:19
And by this we know that we are of the Truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
In conclusion, know Jesus, know Truth.
p.s. I am a non-denominational disciple of Jesus the Christ (aka. a Christian).
