Can you handle the Truth?

You cannot believe anything without assuming that what you see is real atall to begin with. So everything is an assumption if you are as picky as you folk seem to be.

You even assume that what you see will always be the same, why? Why does your knowledge work so well in this apparantly non-knowledgeable universe?
Going to put it down to nothing? Well nothing is evidently capable of bringing about intelligence too then 😉.

I stand by what I said, if what I believed was worse than what you did, I wouldn't believe what I do.

I have no reason to believe what you do.

The source of the laws of physics is clearly capable of producing intelligence, end of.
Due to this I have little reason to doubt the claims of any religious book, other than findings by other unperfect humans which could still be explained by scriptures anyway, and assumptions about conspiracies and lies.

How are you different from any other religious fanatic?

The point of this thread is not for me to convert you, but you to convert me.

How is the bible any different then the koran? From my point of view they both say the same thing (I am the word of god). You have to show me how every other religion is wrong before the volatility of your religion can be considered. The reason for this is dogma (Christianity is the only true religion).

The bible is different because it calls Jesus the son of God, and trust me, that makes all the difference between the two.

I'd stick around and explain it, but my computer is deciding to go haywire, so maybe some other time once I've done a virus check. I've already wrote loads and then lost it all before I had chance to post!

Did you actually just say this or am I miss reading this?

That's not a proper sentence in any language.

Jesus or Muhammad; they are both just men. Just because the bible makes a claim does not make that claim true. That is Circular Reasoning. You will have to give me more.

BTW take your time. If you don't get back to me right away, I will not hold it against you. 😄

Did Congress approve the printing of the first English Bible in America?

"The Continental Congress in 1782, under the Presidency of John Hanson of Maryland, gave money to the mass printing and distribution of the Bible since America was unable to import the Bible during the Revolutionary War. The Bible was produced by Mr. Robert Aitken and is known as "The Bible of the Revolution" and was the first English Bible printed in America."

Amazing. So, it is okay to have the Bible in schools?

Sure, along with the Koran and other religious books that are use in studding religions of the world.

We just don't want it to be used in place of a science book.

The Treaty of Paris—which formally ended the American Revolutionary War—mentions the holy Trinity in its preface?

“In the name of the most holy and undivided Trinity....”

They were Christian, therefore it makes sense that they would mention a Christian concept. This is in no way proof that a Trinity is more then just a religious idea.

I think a few people here should watch this video, JIA and others really need to see the last part starting around 8:30 😉

So you don't believe in separation of church and state in the sense that our society means?

What are you trying to prove? That the US is founded on christianity?

"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies."

Separation of church and state has nothing to do with the leap of logic that you have taken.

One man's delusion does not justify another man's delusion.

^ Also. people of the past are always ignorant of what people of the present know.
